i watch the playoffs by myself. nobody in my family watches it. sometimes they tune in and always says whose playing who. etc. last yr game 7 i was watching it with my bro/his gf/my sister. when toews scored i was like "oh oh not again, went for bathroom break. that pp by chicago was giving me a heart attack. then when burrows went and scored the gwg i jumped up and down screamed high-fived my bro. his gf but accidently smacked her in the forehead lmao.
This team is well aware of what it takes, the only question now is if they have what it takes.
This sums it up perfectly. After being non-existent in the finals, I think the Sedin's still have something to prove and definitely another gear to reach.
This thread has basically turned into "Remembering the Cup run...Pt. II".
I watch with my dad, and sometimes I'll watch by myself. My mom isn't the biggest fan during the season, but she'll watch the games once playoffs come around. I'm just happy they don't talk during the whole game, and actually watch the game so I can as well.
I primarily watch with my father as well. He's been a Canuck fan since he immigrated here in the early 70s and his coworkers turned him onto the game.
My gf simply says "I dont care about hockey or the Canucks"
I'm not as confident as last year. Last year the team was so dominant during the regular season and that didn't really change in the playoffs until they started losing players. I mean, you can't dominate in the playoffs the same way you do in regular season but I didn't see a team last year who could stop a healthy Canucks team and still don't. It's unfortunate what happened near the end of the run there but there's nothing you can do about it.
This year there's been no signs of that dominating team at all, with some of the players playing very mediocre compared to last season. At the same time there are some very good teams around the league who at this time seem to be better than the Canucks, something that wasn't the case last year.
So the mindset is definitely different at least for me.
I can only watch Playoff games with other fans who care. Lucky for me, my girlfriend is a big Canucks fan, so it's good that we can watch the Playoffs together with other friends.
There is nothing worse than trying to watch Playoff hockey with a bunch of bandwagon fans that come 8 minutes into the 1st period and talk the entire time.

I watch the games by myself out here in Calgary for the same reason.
I think we have a stronger forward core than last year. I do think our defence is weaker though. I hope Hank, Kesler and Higgins stay healthy this time around.
Yeah, that's the organ I'm most worried about. When I look back at the infractions I've gotten on this site, they tend to be clustered around the playoffs and the Christmas/alcohol season. Lowered inhibitions and all...
My playoff viewings are usually split between the bar and my couch depending on my mood. Sometimes I want to be around fellow fans (even if I have to educate them) and sometimes I just want privacy in case we lose and I burst into manly tears or break stuff. My wife and daughter don't care about hockey. All of their knowledge about the sport has largely been gleaned from what I've been yelling at the tv all these years, so at least they know the basics and don't interrupt me with stupid questions or sit next to me babbling on the phone while a game's on. They know this means the tranformation into Psycho Dad is nigh.
Everyone remember Sami pahlsson contribution to the third line that consisted of Travis moen and rob neidmayer and was instrumental in shutting down the sedins and the top line of the senators. Do you think with higgins (assuming he's not moved back up to the 2nd line and Hansen will be the most important line for the canucks which can play a stifling shutdown role and also potting in the odd goal here and there? That's if both the twins and kesler are getting shutdown. The depth guys are the guys that will defend and score the important goal that could help the team end a series.
Just a quick comment about how I absolutely cannot watch playoffs unless it is by myself. I get pretty worked up about hockey, take it pretty seriously and every time I watch with other fans it just distracts me from focusing intensely on the games.
Plus I sob like there's no tomorrow every time we get knocked out.
Blues fan here in peace. While the Blues are doing well this season, lately they have sucked big time. But it looks like Vancouver is picking up steam at the right time. Obviously home ice is going to be huge because it is quite possible that our teams will meet in the Conference Finals.

Should be intense!!
I wouldn't worry, it's the last couple of games in the regular season (somewhat reminiscent of when Van dropped two straight against the likes of Edmonton).

Please beat Chicago or Nashville if you manage to get them. TY TY.
For me, it's always been alone watching the canucks especially if i'm in school back in DC. But got a few friends who come over for the game, and they don't know as much as me but still, we party and danced when the bieksa goal came in the sharks series.

I am so ready for playoffs this time around, hopefully the Canucks make it past round one and two so I can be in Vancouver for it.
I'm actually getting more optomistic about this year than last, if possible. Last year we were mooning over the possibility of losing to Chi, and so pysched about being the PT winners for the first time.
this year the PT is "nice if it happens but who really cares" and while we have Danny on the sidelines, for the most part we are healthy. And Schneids is playing lights out.
I hope AV simply says "you win you start the next one" to the goalies.
