Going to be an interesting day today. I wouldn't be surprised if 1 or 2 under is leading before the day is over. If Tiger manages to shoot even par or so, he's right in the thick of things.
Guessing the lead will probably be the same as it was after round one tomorrow morning. Westwood is just playing par golf pretty much, guys like Couples (always kicking around Augusta) and McIlroy are moving up the leaderboard.
If Tiger can get his driver under control, something around a 69 would be a great score for him today.
Tiger almost in the drink. Looked like it went in, but sort of stuck itself on the bank. Crazy lie. You couldn't drop the ball and make it stick there.
Got home in time to see Tiger on 14-18. His swing was God-awful from the little I saw. He will start tomorrow at +3. Eight shots back is still doable, but he has a LOT of people to jump over & he better start making eagles and birdies on the par 5's, which have always been his bread and butter at Augusta.
Hard to believe this is the same tiger that won 2 weeks ago. He looks completely lost out there this week.
I'd love to see Freddy keep it together for 2 more rounds, but it's highly unlikely.
Different course.
Bombs away off the tees at Bay Hill with virtually no trees.
Almost all these fairways are tree lined.
Any golfer knows how that gets into your head, and how uncontrolable that feeling is.
Tiger's confidence was shaken. It took his remarkable short game to make the cut.
Tomorrow promises to be thrilling.
I look for Bubba, McIlroy, and Mickelson to move to the top, along with some other dark horses.
And tiger knows that "different course"' better than anyone in the field, however it's not just tiger's tee shots that are hurting him. His iron play has been horrendous this week as has his putting.
Still, it's the Masters and it will be fun to watch the next two days no matter who is sitting atop the leader board.
Bay Hill is still a course you can't miss fairways on. Tiger has been the best driver on tour so far this season, #1 in accuracy and distance combined. He just sucks this week.
That pitch on 15 where he put it into the bunker pretty much summed up his round yesterday, old Tiger puts that within 2 feet 9/10 times. I didn't expect him to win this week, but I wouldn't have expected he'd thrown up a round like yesterday. Still, he could go out and shoot 65 today and be right there and I wouldn't be surprised.
As much as I was hoping to see some sort of Woods Vs. Rory battle, Fred Couples has me very excited to see an old guy, very good story thus far. Hope he keeps it up.

The rough on Bay Hill was essentially non-existent.
All the courses Tiger has played this year were wide open, bombs away. In fact, Tiger often uses other clubs than the driver off the tee.
As I stated, Augusta is totally different.
Tree lined fairways nearly throughout. Any golfer knows that if your confidence is shaken with the driver, you're in trouble.
Quote:
Woods hit just 7 of 18 greens -- two weeks after leading the field in greens in regulation at Bay Hill -- and is tied for 50th in the field through 36 holes. His driving accuracy -- on some wide fairways -- is tied for 62nd, as Woods has hit only 14 of 28.
Certainly his positive experience there kept him from not making the cut. But this is not the same Tiger Woods from a confidence perspective than in the past.

Agree 100% about the pitch on 15, but the fact that he was even there is more surprising. He was dead center of the fairway with 194 yards to the green. That's a stock 5 or 6 iron for him and he wasn't even close (the pitch was just the icing on the cake). As comfortable as he looked at bay hill 2 weeks ago with his swing he looked completely lost yesterday.

Bay Hill is not wide open and there is no "rough" at AGNC. The fairways at AGNC are very wide we aren't talking about 15 handicaps that only see the trees on both sides of the fairway that make them look like bowling alleys. We're talking about arguably the best player ever. Tree lined fairways, especially on fairways that are extremely wide, don't bother him in the least. His confidence is shaken because he simply doesn't have his swing this week.

Have you been watching?
His problem is hooking it off the tee (coming over the top). He hooked it numerous times at Bay Hill and got away with it. He's not getting away with it at Augusta.
I've played Bay Hill. Other than the water, there's not a lot of trouble. It's long, but that's not an issue with the pros.
It's always something with Tiger anymore. He'll have everything else together, and completely bomb on a specific facet of his game. Often, it's something different each time.
