So is Malkin the MVP?

Barring Stamkos and/or Giroux going Sam Gagner in the last few games here it looks like Evgeni Malkin is going to win the Art Ross by a fairly comfortable margin.

Is he the MVP? I think it's pretty clear cut that he is.

2 points is the average NHL stat line for an NHL player? Yeah i guess i mean typically everyone in the top 100 scorers has over 164 points a season.

If the Rangers win the President's trophy I can't see how Lundqvist doesn't win.

I suggest people start watching games with the volume off. The second McGuire started yapping about Couturier, he's be voted on for the Selke.

Malkin played fine, and Bobrovsky was better than Fleury. Sometimes its truly is as simple as that.

Garbage time. Giroux played better than Malkin the last two times they met. Malkin is going to win the Hart and Art Ross though.

Goalies almost never win the Hart.

No it's Quick, Pens make the playoffs without Malkin anyways.

And screw all these award threads, there needs to be a separate section for them.

As i said in other threads. If Malkin isn't awarded the Hats this season it will be a travesty.

not really actually. he carried the team for 2 months when it seemed like they'd be missing the playoffs. the Pens fell as low as 8th place in the East when Malkin got angry and turned things around.

Ludqvist? I'd say he's a lock for the Vezina. I'd also say he's the best goalie and has been for a couple years, imo.

What I cannot understand is why he would be "adjudged to be most valuable to his team" even amongst goaltenders. I mean, his contributions to the Rangers are nowhere near as much of a factor in their success as Quick's have been for the Kings.

Not malkin. People don't understand that he is extremely sheltered. He is a specialist. His defense is garbage.

Give it to a player who deserves it. Someone like Karlsson or Kopitar or Landeskog. These guys don't just have everything handed to them on a silver platter. They go against all odds and adversity to lift their team up by the boot straps.

Whats the definition of the Hart, is it most valuable to his team or the best player in the league? If it is the latter than it is Malkin, if it is most valuable to him team than it is Quick imo.

Goaltending is at an all time high this year. The fact that Hank is not that much better than the 2nd best goalie basically nullifies the fact he wont win. Presidents trophy =/= team should get an mvp either. Malkin carried the penguins on his back the whole year. Sure, you can have an argument if Crosby played the whole year. (Crosby would probably win it then.) Fact of the matter is, Malkin completely dominated far and above anyone else. Neal probably wouldn't even be a top 30 scorer in hockey without Malkin on his line. The guy just makes him that much better.

I thought Malkin won the Hart 3 months ago? According to most fanboys it was "not even close" so it was handed out mid season.
