Geno will be the MVP. Cannot see anyone else getting it.

Well of course, Malkin does nothing except winning faceoffs, scoring goals and giving primary assists. Plus he's second at SO goals and has +14 rating (garbage defense). Which makes him constant threat every time he's on the ice. Malkin is second in goals and first in points, leading by a wide margin.
I BET EVERY CENTER COULD BE AS GOOD AS MALKIN IF HE PLAYED ON SAME LINE WITH NEAL AND KUNITZ.

Malkin is winning the Hart. Not debatable. Even though other guys stepped up, he has over 100 points, is behind only Stamkos in goals, and all with Crosby missing most of the season.

FWIW (because I don't know how many of the 12 voters actually have votes), Geno was the unanimous MVP in the latest USA Today Power Rankings.

A little OT, but check out the Norris voting. Crazy.

Well for the last part, Crosby is having less points and much less goals in the last 5 games, so i fail to see how he is doing "twice" as good.

The guys who picked Lidstrom over Pietrangelo should give their head a shake.

Pietrangelo plays more minutes in every situation, even strength, PK, PP. He has way more points, and he doesnt have the luxury of Kronwall, White etc.

He is fourth in points among defenceman, despite being on a team in the lower end of the scoring category.

yeah because thats how hockey works right?

Step 1: Jordan Staal wins defensive zone faceoff.
Step 2: Evgeni Malkin gets a point blank backdoor one timer with the goalie way out of position.
Step 3: Evgeni Malkin scores 48 times.

This one looked pretty impossible to miss:

And of course any decent player would put this one in:

Oh and this one was nothing but a walk in the park:

you got it dude!

It's easily between Malkin and Stamkos. The latter scored more goals, that might be the factor in voting.

Tampa will miss the playoffs so Malkin will be the MVP IMHO.

Where is your actual input, besides opinions based on statistics and more statistics? You haven't really given any personal analysis, just regurgitation of numbers that you seem to think hold more water than they do.

Ehhh? I will refresh your memory but at one point Penguins squad looked like a bunch of AHLers plus Malkin and Fleury AND still they managed not to drop lower than 8th seed. Penguins actually were winning games without Letang, Staal, Neal, Crosby and others. Malkin was the key element why Pens stayed alive during this season.
Here you mentioned Kopitar as possible Hart nominee. Kings are in playoffs ONLY because of Quick; their offence was terrible (lowest scoring team in league). Karlsson can not be considered as league's MVP because he's not even most valuable defender (see Chara and Weber). And I am not trying to troll.

Stamkos, especially if he reaches 60 goals this season.

Even at this point imo a 56G 36A 92P player on a bottom 10 team (would have been bottom 2 if not for Stamkos) is more valuable than a 48G 56A 104P player on a top 5 team.

And I am no Tampa fan...

Stamkos might have had a shot had Tampa made the playoffs, but as it stands, Malkin will win it.

You conveniently forgot to mention that Malkin played 7 less games than Stamkos.

I know right? Remember that thread, about 3 months ago, where it was already claimed the scoring race was already locked up?

I'll refresh your memory...you did have the 3rd post in the entire thread.

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1060723

Sure, that's a Art Ross thread, but I assumed having that locked up in December earns you the Hart too.

Malkin..why?
1. Carried the team for the first half, second half has not been as good IMO, but still Hart worthy.
2. 6 games less, 12 points more than Stamkos, who is the 2nd best candidate for Hart.
3. Art usually = Hart. At least when one wins the Art by a fair margin, like Malkin does.
4. 1.44 points per game, which is just ridiclous pace in todays NHL.
5. 48 goals.
