Selke

Who wins it this year? I know there's been a few of these, but they've more or less been "X for Selke?" and such... And a few of the primary Selke ones have been very limited and don't show enough players who deserve credit.

Added a lot of canidates.. Going to be a close race this year. I know I likely forgot a few, and I'm sorry. But I did my best.

I'll take the guy that just took 40% of his team's faceoffs and won 90% of them. Oh, and scored the game winner.

I think Marian Hossa should get nominated. David Backes as well. And Bergeron. It's going to go to a center, I know that. (Unfortunately)

I agree. It shouldn't be a center award and centers only, which it has been for a long time, but part of it is faceoffs. Faceoffs are crucial, in my opinion. Huge reason why Bergeron is a frontrunner.

Yeah, I understand why it's a centers-only club nowadays, but Hossa has been great defensively this season. I realistically just want him to get recognition and be a finalist.

I do think Hossa should get nominated too, he's so ridiculously underrated. Not only in scoring, but his defensive play is really what puts him above everyone else.

Backes or Bergeron would get my vote. Quite happy Ryan O'Reilly is in the conversation

Blues fan voting Bergeron. Interpret that however you'd like.

Bergeron, Backes and O'Reilly would be my 3 with Bergeron the winner.

I voted Bergeron but I do agree that Hossa seems to be generally underappreciated for a guy who is consistently very, very good.

It would be huge if Hossa would get nomination. Can't see him winning it under current circusmtances. Reputation based, center award.
Bergeron is almost a lock.

Wingers should get more respect in the voting, but the actual defensive forwards need more respect. This isn't a 2-way award, it's the best defensive forward award. Not saying any of those players that are mentioned deserve recognition or even to win the Selke, but the strictly defensive forwards need to be recognized.

That's what it is by definition, but that's not how they vote. Kind of like how the Hart is awarded to the best player instead of the most important to his team.

I just wish the were consistent. They go from Draper and Madden winning, to now players have to have a decent amount of offense.

Bergeron should win it. No idea who gets nominations... Kesler and Datsyuk based off reputation? It wouldn't surprise me to see Toews in there either.

Rooting for Backes obviously, but wont be upset if Bergeron wins it, also very deserving.
