it's easier to just root against the teams I hate.... then to root for one team...
against:
Philly
Ottawa
Boston
Washington
Of course, I'll be on the bandwagon of the other new contender types (St Louis, Nashville, Florida, Phoenix)

All the votes for the Rags disgust me. I'll root for the Devils and the Panthers in the East, the rest can go screw.
Out west, I'll root for the 'Yotes and Sharks if they make it, Red Wings, and Blackhawks. Can't root for the Canucks after many of their antics last postseason. I like LA, but I can't root for them with Richards and Carter on their team--though I respect their abilities. I like Nashville, but I don't want our draft pick to be adversely affected. The Blues are a payroll underdog, but I find it difficult to stay awake for their games, and their HF fans are pretty hostile toward the Sabres.

If it has to be NHL... I wouldn't mind seeing Dineen do well with Florida and with how rowdy the Preds fans are, it would be cool to see the team go far to see just how frenzied those folks could be.

I'm always on the Canuck bandwagon.
Being a west coast team, it messes with my sleep schedule and then to compound the issue they love to take games into overtime.

Given how much I don't like so many teams in the East, it's damn near impossible to get on any of their bandwagons. Thus, Florida.

The teams that I load up on in my playoff pool!
This year is tough for me to figure out. The Pens v Flyers match up in round one is really throwing a wrench into my Eastern Conference ideas.

That Pens-Flyers series is one where I will be cheering for bone-jarring, teeth-rattling bodychecks. On everyone.

The 4-5 series in both conferences could be barnburners.
If the season ended today, it would be Pitt-Phi in the East and Det-Nash in the West.

Hopefully nashville goes out in 4, Cup for Ottawa, hopefully that leads to all the copycat articles from lazy hockey writers telling the world that defense doesn't matter.

I think it would mess up mine more
; My friends who support the Sharks and Ducks have to stay up until 3am until the game even starts.

Hate me but I'd like to see a repeat dynasty in my lifetime..so I'll take Bruins in the East and Blues/Predators in the West.
Would like to see Florida do well too though, get hockey a little more southern love.

Yeah, how absolutely lovely it would be to have the Bruins and Pats both be dynasties. Ugh.

Haha. That's a whole 'nother level of messing with sleep. Especially if they do it frequently during the regular season
That takes some dedication

Every time a Boston team wins a championship, Bill Simmons gets a little more insufferable.

I'm pulling for Nashville in West and either the Rangers or the Devils in the east. Those are the only 2 teams in the top 8 I have no beef with.

I live in St. Louis, so if the Sabres are out, I'll root for the Blues.
I hate the Eastern Conference teams except Florida, and I don't want them to win a cup before the Sabres.

If this was another player you were talking about I MIGHT* be able to get behind your thought process but Crosby doesn't deserve anything**. He gets everything handed to home on a silver platter in this league.
* I more times then not have a hard time getting behind a player "deserving" a cup. With that mentality you would have to say all players do just cause they play in the league IMHO
** I will agree that he's been through a lot and yeah he deserves to stay injury/concussion free for a long time but that's about it. That's just my two cents though.
