Haven't decided yet, but it won't be Boston, Ottawa, Vancouver, Philthy, the Craps, or Nashville (though in the Preds' case, it's only due to us having their first rounder).

EDIT: And it will most likely be a team from the west.

I read this and thought those were the teams you were going to root for. I laughed. And then read the rest of your post

Now that we've f'd up our draft pick I can't root for Nashville, will go for te wings round one to beat the preda and then will merely become a viewer

We didn't **** up the pick abysmally just yet. We can still get 11th - we need to lose in regulation to Boston and hope Colorado and Calgary do not do the same.

With the Sabres out, which team(s) are you pulling for in the SC Playoffs

I've been pondering this one for a bit and I tend to go with old loyalties.

So for me it's the Rags in the East, Wings in the West.

I would like to see the Sharks succeed for a change. And I am impressed by Phoenix.... esp. Smith's play.

BZK aside, I don't think Vancouver is any tougher and I promise I'll kill myself if MAG gets his name on Lord Stanley's.

St. Louis was a favorite of mine having lived in Misery (Missouri) for about 4 years. But I really don't like Hitchcock. (Has something to do with '99).

Nashville could do some damage. I like their D and top forwards. And Goose. But there's something wrong about the Cup being on display in the Grand Ol' Opry.

I seriously hope that Washington flames out in the 1st round.

I will jump on a bandwagon if a team steps up in a meaningful way that impresses me.

I didn't see any specific thread about which team you now root for. Maybe on the main board, but one here is prob okay.

Anyway....

I like a lot of teams, so it's always difficult to pick favs in early rounds.

I like the Pens and the Caps. Would get a kick outa seeing the Rags win again, especially with Torts as coach. Love that guy.

In the West, it would be cool to see a non-traditional team win, like Nashville or St. Louis.

Ultimately, the Pens are really the best this league has to offer. They are scary good. I'd never bet against them. Doesn't mean they're gonna win the Cup this year, but if your life depended on it, would you really bet on the other team?

Florida vs Phoenix...
Always had a soft spot for Phoenix.. dunno why but they deserve to stay and a Stanley cup may force that.

Am I the only Pens bandwagoner??

I <3 MAF and my GF is from Pittsburgh, I also used to LOVE Aleksey Morozov (my dog is named after him)

So I'm a pretty one foot in the closet Pens fan.

Yes, you're the only one.

Now go sit in the corner.

...

I'm all for Detroit, because I respect them.
Their secret to success (apart from money pre-lockout) is teaching, scouting and developing players.

Unlike Pittsburgh or Chicago or even Washington who all went on suck rampages and stockpiles lottery picks, Pens most of all.

1. Phoenix
2. Detroit
3. San Jose
4. Florida
5. New Jersey

If any other team wins it all I am going to be sick... Especially if it's Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington or the Rangers.

Rangers. I've followed and watched a lot of Rangers games since I started watching hockey, due to the fact that NYC is my second sports city (Knicks and Yankees fan) and that I got the games on MSG. I guess you could say they're my second team in the East, Detroit in the West. I'll be watching and rooting for both to win their conferences, though some team may overtake my rooting in the West; I'll definitely pull for the Rangers to win it all.

This Rangers team is really easy to like and is exactly the kind of team NYC sports fans want, with their gritty team and selfless team defense.

No, you're not...I've had an affinity for them since I was a kid and Barrasso was there

I'm hoping for Pens v Blues final since my friend owns a business in StL now and I like the way the Blues play.

Actually, I just realized I went with him to see the Sabres play in both those cities this year (combined 12-5 losses )

Also rooting hard for Preds to be 1 and done. We need that second 1st rounder to be as high as possible!
