Prep Players Heading To Juniors

Here's a way for myself and others to keep track of some of the top prep school prospects that are heading to either USHL, EJHL, NAHL, CHL or Junior A in Canada.

Zach Stepan - Shattuck St. Mary's > 2012-2013 Penticton Vees (BCHL)
Adam Henry - Shattuck St. Mary's > 2012-2013 Penticton Vees (BCHL)
Louie Nanne - Edina High School > 2012-2013 Penticton Vees (BCHL)
Evan Anderson - Colorado Midget AAA > 2012-2013 Penticton Vees (BCHL)
Christoval Neives - Kent Prep > Indiana Ice (USHL)

Getting drafted to the NHL and then leaving for the BCHL is not a common route.

Mario Lucia and Mike Rielly went to Penticton last season after getting drafted.

Penticton is more or less an experiment to see what would happen if a typical USHL team played in the BCHL. The result is a 40 game win streak and probably a league championship.

It's not a common route, and I question the developmental value of high-end college bound players destroying their competition week after week.

Kudos to Harbinson on his ability to lure those kids into that program.

Sounds like Louie Nanne is heading to Penticton too, along with Noah Henry (SSM) and Evan Anderson (Colorado AAA).

I knew about Henry, interesting that Nanne and Anderson are both heading.

Last post on this topic: Connor & Ryan Reilly... all the proof I need.

Can someone explain why these second and third rounders are going to the BCHL and not the dub?

Also, looking at their stats, I have no idea how to analyze them considering the league and the fact that they are all feeding off of each other on a powerhouse team. But I guess that's how scouts earn their keep.

Want to remain eligible for the NCAA. If they go to the CHL they lose that ability.
