Retire Foote's number just because of his epic last shift.

Those are the only numbers from our " glory days " that we should see up there.

Blake might be the best player to not get his number retired by any team, based mainly off of how despised he is by all 3 fanbases.

Did not play for the franchise long enough to justify.

LA was pretty bad, and Blake didn't want to resign there. Fanbase and ownership were offended by it...

Here's one that shows the Kings offered what Blake was asking for, and he still didn't sign

At least that's the LA portion of it. Not really sure about the SJ dissent. But I really don't even think of him much as a Shark.

That hit on Mueller pissed me off and it sucks that he got hurt but Blake was one of the best defensemen in the league when he played for us and he helped us win a Stanley Cup. He shouldn't get his jersey retired but it's good that they honored him earlier this season. He averaged 50 points per season with us, now days our forwards can barely hit that mark.

I would rather honour Ozolinsh or Kamensky before Blake tbh, maybe Tanguay too. I'm not completely against it but it feels too much like looking back at the glory days with a guy who was on the team for 4 yrs and 1 cup.

I think the Avs should start honoring jerseys. Put them up in the rafters. Give them their night. But don't retire the jerseys unless they are hall of fame players, who have spent significant time with the Avs.
Honoring jerseys absolutely, I dont like retiring though. As if 300 years from now, someone's gonna know who Sakic, Forsberg or Foote were. Retiring for all eternity doesnt make any sense to me. Honoring, yes.

As for Blake, uhm, no chance.
