Said it in the other thread and will update my proposal/ideas:
(Re-)Sign
Andrew Brunette 1 year, $1,450,000
-I would much rather have this guy than Reasoner/Pandolfo. Whilst he is aging, I think he could bring an actual veteran presence in the locker room.
Brad Boyes 2 years, $3,200,000 per year (3rd year player option)
-I think Boyes would do better on Long Island than in Buffalo due to the lesser amount of pressure in a smaller hockey market.
*RFA* Matt Martin 3 years, $1,575,000 per year
-I don't really need an explanation for this
Dylan Reese 1 year, $900,000
-Has impressed me so far, so an extension seems deserved
*RFA* Rhett Rakhshani 1 year, $600,000
-Give him one more year to show his stuff
*RFA* Justin DiBenedetto 1 year, $575,000
-Depth
*RFA* Mark Katic 1 year, $600,000
-Depth
Steve Staios 1 year, $1,000,000
-A player wants to sign with us?!?!
one goal, needs to work on skating, passing, holding onto the puck, sure, why not?
FWIW, I keep PAP over Bouchard. We have a little more legs on resigning him. Wang just has to use this as a chance to make the ($10-15M under the) cap floor.
Then we can put PAP on the fourth line where Nino leaves a vacancy

As a Hawk fan I would advice against that
Bruno is done ,, Slowest skater in NHL and cant keep up with play anymore defensively
He also has struggled playing with guys like Kane/Hossa , Toews/Kane , etc
He would be brutal on 3rd line and in checking role
Washington may be looking looking to trade up. If Murray/Dumba/Trouba or whoever Garth wants is off the board when we pick and the Caps guy is still on the board do we consider swapping our first for both of theirs and one of their young defenseman? Imagine if we land one or Orlov/Alzner/Carlson and get two top 20 picks? If the Caps have and early playoff exit they may hit the panic button and make this trade. We could probably get a young defenseman such as Andrey Pedan's partner Matt Finn, Cody Ceci, or the Swedes Ludwig Bystrom or Hampus Lindholm. Then with the other pick we can draft a guy like Zemgus Girgensons, Brendan Gaunce, Radek Faksa, or Tomas Hertl. Bringing in a defenseman of Carlson's caliber would look really nice.

I'd hope Snow could snag one of the Caps quality, young defensemen.Zero interest though,in flipping the isles 1st for the 2 Caps 1st rounders. That has been a trade Caps fans have been pushing.
With scouts saying there is a big dropoff in talent, after the projected top 10 and with the isles having a glut of prospects from the last 4 drafts,I don't think we need to makes trades to improve depth.

If you want to snag one of their defenseman how do you expect to aquire them?

I can't see the Caps giving up both 1st rounders and a quality, young blueliner.I'd be happy if Snow traded 4th overall for just Carlson or Alzner alone.
Next season Nino should be left to improve in Bport. The islanders have virtually thrown away a year of his development this season and I just hope to God they've learned their lesson with rushing their prospects now.
Unless he absolutely blows everyone away during camp, keep Strome and this years pick away from the island.
Who would you guys prefer to add to the 4th line next year: Asham or Prust?
I'm kinda split on the two, but I see a better chance of Asham coming here than Prust. I doubt the Rangers let him get away.
A 4th of Martin - Cizikas/Reasoner - Asham could be very effective. Martin has shown some offensive ability, Asham has a pretty solid shot, if Cizikas can start adapting to the speed of the NHL they could be a 4th that chips in their fair share of offense.
I'm praying that the Caps and Sharks get destroyed in the first round so we can capitalize (no pun intended) on their misfortunes. Unfortunately, I think Carlson's price would still be too high, that is if McPhee is still GM. Alzner could be had for the right price. The Islanders could definitely pluck Murray from SJ for a couple of draft picks, which we don't need as desperately anymore.
If we didn't have such a tight budget, this would be the summer to BUY and thus trade picks for pieces here and there - mainly on defense. Honestly, I wouldn't give a damn if we didn't make one pick this year! But god forbid the SnoWang Circus takes on too much salary.

What do you guys think?
Definitely have a better chance of bringing Asham back. I would love to have him back because he is the type of fourth-liner we so desperately need, but it's all a matter of whether Snow will take off his dunce cap or not.
A little off the board thought: offer Grabner (odd man out as this team matures anyhow) for Brandon Gormley and see if Phoenix bites.
PHX seems like a potential trade partner this offseason. I think they are extremely high on Gormley though. I could maybe see them dangling Rundblad out there if they can get a young center with top-6 potential. The only guys I think they would be interested in that fit that mold are Strome and Nelson. Can't see Strome getting traded at all. Nelson being traded is almost as unlikely but I could see Snow at least considering a Nelson-Rundblad swap.

I would be concerned about Phoenix dangling Rundblad, first Ottawa and now them using Rundblad as a trade piece? Phoenix knows defenseman damn good and if they view Rundblad as a "trade piece" then maybe he is not worth it.
I would kill to get Gormley.. But I've learned that its virtually impossible to trade for a good young defenseman... I proposed the #4th overall for Alzner and the 11th overall.. Capitals fans told be I wasn't even close.. they said they wouldn't even trade Alzner straight up for the 4th pick, yet alone throw in the 11th..
And think about the exteem we hold players like Strome and Nelson with.. what would we want for one of those guys?? ALOT... practically untradeable..
The more I see how hard it is to acquire a GOOD young Dman outside of the draft, the more I want Murray, and the more upset I am that we took Nino over Fowler and Gormley... we have to get Murray, Dumba, Reinhart or Trouba...

Yeah, you know why they did not want to do that trade? They are idiot fans, just like we are. They over-value their assets just like we do. They want to steal the 4th overall pick without giving up real assets. Every trade, or almost every trade, proposed on this board is a situation where we are trying to offload trash for someone else's treasure (maybe a slight exaggeration, but not far off). See the post above offering Grabner for Gormley. If you would do it, that means they probably wouldn't. I am being a bit hard on Grabner calling him "trash." While he is a flawed player and he definitely needs to work on many aspects of his game, he still scored 20 goals following up on a 30+ goal season. 20 goal scorers, even if you don't think he'll hit 30 again, don't grow on trees. I'd still consider trading him because of his flaws...but there is no way he brings back Gormley. Gormley is worth more now than he was when he was drafted because he is that much closer to being an NHL d-man.
i think we'd have trouble getting to the cap floor with this team, but we could offer extension/raises to some of our guys like martin, bailey, hamonic, macdonald. i'd rather do that than bring in some overpaid scrubs.
