Oh and the coach not knowing his offensive players from his ass
I'd rather Renney throw Horcoff and Smyth to the wolves than Eberle and Nuge. If there is one success Renney has had this year, its been handling the kids. They've been put in a position to succeed and they have.

Good. Hopefully, he just stayed out because it was pointless to return.

And yeah, Schultz was a beast.

Another super game from Dubnyk.

If he could do this on a fairly consistent basis he could be our guy.

Dubnyk wins the game for us.

I'd give him around 60 games next year and see how he does. His confidence is growing.

73 points now on the season after back to back 62 point seasons.

My goal at the beginning of the year was 75 points. 1 more win to get to that.

Fully on the Ryan Murray wagon. Hope Stu makes him our pick.

Knowing Tambellini he's probably sent him a contract already.

Good riddance, Cam. Good luck in Russia.

Stauffer raving about how the Oilers getting help from Minny. "Destined to get a top 3 pick!" If someone calls his show tomorrow and tells him to S.T.F.U. you'll know who it was.

I know that some are complaining about Dubnyk only doing well when the games are meaningless in the last 2 seasons but i think that it's more a matter of him gaining confidence due to getting the bulk of the starts, he seems to thrive in that situation.
Khabby got the majority of the starts early in the last 2 seasons while Dubie only got spot duty and his play suffered due to that IMO.

Hopefully, he gets his chance early next season so we can see what he's really made of because he has the physical abilities to be a solid #1, he just needs to be into it mentally and hopefully getting the majority of the starts will grow his confidence.

The Oilers officially have a big 4. Hall, Eberle, RNH and Hartikainen.

Modern day Esa.

Mhmm, PRV has no choice to switch to the right side or be a bottom 6er. Even on the right, he has to outplay Hemsky (doubtful).

lol, yup, pretty obvious that the Oilers were skating uphill that game, the refs were pretty blatant about trying to give Teemu a win at home in possibly his last game there...40 years of watching hockey and i cant remember ever seeing a guy get an interference call when he's stepping out of the sin bin and trying to break up the play with his stick, not to mention the two 5 on 3s and nonstop parade to the box and we didnt get a PP until 5 minutes left? Wow!

Dooby was the 1st star of the game, no question about it., he played awesome (just wish for a big guy like that, that he wouldnt make himself so small, sometimes he looks like he's 5'6" instead of 6'6" in the net).

Anyone else notice Barker and Teubert played decent games? Sutton and Potter seemed overwhelmed at times.

Schultz for Norris with that dandy net shift.

In my opinion it's Hart's spot to lose.

We have four top six wingers in Hall, Eberle, Hart and Hemsky. Paajarvi will have to beat one of them out of the gate next season to earn a spot.

Having Hall out at the beginning of the year will be integral in his effort to prove he's a top 6 player, because Hart certainly is.

I missed most of this one but saw some highlights and wow, Dubnyk looked great. I haven't had faith he could be a starter - had him as a career backup but if he plays like this more often he could be a started for sure. Can he find some consistency next season? I sure hope so.

Nobody has ever questioned the skills, it's the consistency. You can get away with being a little bi-polar in junior but not in the pros.

This is what I saw.

1)The kids were not given any extra time, so Hartikainen's time was limited and other than a few shifts from the 4th line the rest of the lineup was invisible, especially after Hemsky went down.

2) Schultz is exactly the player we needed at the deadline, and he does those little things we need done to win a 2-1 game like knock the net off to avoid a goal.

3) The veterans are mailing this in, especially Horcoff. I can't see Belanger and Horcoff in our lineup at the same time next year, because that is a hole of terrible we need to fill.

4) Justin Schultz should be watching this game, because it is painfully obvious how much we need a PMD.

This game gives me hope for this line up up front next year.

Hartikainen RNH Eberle
Hall Gagner Hemsky
MPS Horcoff Jones
Eager Lander Petrell

Omark, petrell

Petry Smid
Schultz Whitney
Murray Potter

Sutton

Dubnyck-60 game starter
Khabibulin-20 game starter

Bye bye: Belanger, Smyth, Barker, and Hordichuk,

Glad we won an ugly one. The vets on this team better get it together over the summer or next year will be much the same.
