The longer it goes, the more of a beating the oft-injured Rangers' D corps takes.

Don't think it could happen but if Ottawa won the series I'd piss myself laughing

Sweet... didn't want to see the Rangers waltz all the way through round one. Looks like a longer one and maybe take a pound of flesh on the way. Excellent.

Agreed. Good job by MacLean making some offensive adjustments in the third. Still not sure they're reliable enough defensively but they're alive.
Have to think Hagelin gets at least a game for that elbow on Alfredsson.

Galliardi hit.
Bet he gets nothing even though it was way worse than Ovis.

If that isn't a multi-game hit to the head on Shaw from Chicago....

Lord, Smith is in real trouble. Without him, they're ****ed. Somehow it doesn't seem right to be able to lose a nobody like Shaw in exchange your their starter and call that justice. That's where you take out your opponent's starter, as dirty as possible. No worries, just send out your least important player, someone you won't miss on the ensuing suspension. Sad, but deterrence and reprisal is the only way to avoid it. You cripple us, we do exactly the same, and we both lose. Fortunately, after several minutes he seems to be trying to shake it off.
Nice. A major and Phoenix is making them pay.

Rough night around the league, wonder if seeing Weber get away with no punishment made a lot of players think "well **** open season it is"

Oy Smith with the south american soccer BS. Head to head did not look intentional or did I miss this completely.

Here's a question: other than the removal of the gloves, what's the difference between what Carkner did to Boyle and what Boyle did to Karlsson?

Same question asked differently....what was the difference between the play where Holtby got a minor versus the one today where Thomas didn't?

Situational/contextual. Time of the game, on Holtby - Thomas.

Carkner has business fighting Boyle, Boyle has no business fighting Karlsson. I never thought a 6'7 man could be such a huge biatch.
Wow, Vermette is looking like a brilliant move for the Yotes. I though he was done based on the way he played in Phoenix but he's looking like a faster Laich that can pass and win a faceoff.

Not much other then Carkner got his pound of flesh per say.
Shaw had no intent there, but that was a really stupid situation to put yourself in even for a rookie.

Rough way to end for Phoenix and Smith, 5 seconds from a regulation win, only to lose in OT. I like both clubs, but with Chicago's recent Cup win and all the distractions and troubles in Phoenix, I'd like to see them have as much success as possible.
Another 1-1 series!
