Normally I'm pretty pessimistic, but given the way Ovechkin played in the second, maaaaybe we'll see vintage Ovi.

Given how many gifts the Caps tried to give up in the first, you could easily argue it should be, like, 4-2 or something.

Like how they have been playing the last 10 minutes of the period and they deserved a better fate.

Neuvirth def should have had that first one and tough break on 2nd one. Give credit where credit is due...Roloson has been very good.

Caps have to come thru for their young goalie and come back in the 3rd. If they play like they have so far they will win.

No need to panic and we don't suck. They have played very hard and gotten some tough luck here along with a gritty performance from a vet goalie on the other side.

Just rewatched the Orlov penalty, was a dive by Malone. Pathetic.

There's no excuse if they lose this game......the truth is the Sabres have busted their butts to get into the playoffs.....the Caps have stumbled in like the town drunk......WORK for it dammit !

The next period will tell us a lot about this team. In a desperate situation with a full roster. I'm not going to hold my breath.

I'm a Blues fan and not trolling, just posting the goals and hits.

If we can't beat a crap team like TB we don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Definitely outplayed them this period, but they outgoalied us...
Now lets see if we've learned anything in last year PO's.

Can you post the Orlov penalty please? It shows up in the bottom left corner.

Yeah it was and they missed a couple trips by the Lighting. But those are the breaks and can't do much about the refs. Expect the Caps to get a couple make up calls in the 3rd.

They have to come thru. Green needs to be on PP unit 1. Wideman is a solid performer on the PP but Mike Green he is not. Hunter has to pull the trigger here.

I'd like to see all the young guns on the PP1 along with Knuble or Brouwer.

Right. No need to panic. They just need to come out with the same intensity and the flood gates will open.

I would like to see Knuble, Brouwer or Semin in place of MoJo on the first line.

We beat Peter Budaj... IN THE SHOOTOUT.
PETER. BUDAJ. MONTREAL. CANADIENS.

Neuvirth's fault.

Regardless of how Neuvirth has played, this offense has been straight up AWFUL. This season is not the goaltenders fault, any of them. Ridiculous statement.

Also, why is Semin not on PP1? Nobody shoots the damn puck besides OV so all you have to do is park 2 guys in front of him to stop our PP.

Just so troubling that the whole season is coming down to this. Soft play, bad G's, passive passive passive.

Caps need to score next goal, or its done. I dont feel good about being tied w Buff w 2 games to play. We all know Buff will torch Toronto tomorrow night. We cant expect them to allow us to back in the #8 seed. It just wont happen. We have been given our gifts, now its time to take it.

For ****s sakes!

The Caps will score again, it's just a matter of how many they'll need to score with Noovy in net.

Saying a goalie is average/backup quality/etc. =/= saying it's the goalie's fault.

Keep on crusading though. Maybe your efforts will inspire Neuvirth to hit the elusive .910 plateau.
