Has anyone watched mccoshen play? How is he? Seems to be panning out as a solid pick in the 2nd round.

I saw him in the he third period today and he was getting involved in the action but then took a penalty,

he looks big but I didn't see enough. the penalty gave Canada enough momentum to score

While true, Trocheck has been VERY bad the last 3-4 weeks. Blown assignments, turnovers galore, etc. I expect him to rebound but it's been hard to watch.

Kyle Rau just passed 100pts as a Gopher, 80th player to do so.

And he's tied with the Almighty Jonny Hockey in career NCAA game winning goals.

Hopefully he turns pro soon. One of the many things that SA needs is leadership and clutch goalscoring.

#97 Florida Panthers - Michael Downing (D)
#98 Florida Panthers - Matt Buckles (C)
#99 Nashville Predators - Juuse Saros (G)

Last summer, I wasn't even that disappointed when DT didn't pick Saros, but right now, I'm more like pissed. ****.

For a small goalie, he's doing quite well.

Sam Brittains numbers are insane: 19 games: 1,75 GAA and 94,1% (10-5-4) with 3 SO.

Yeah he is turning out pretty well. Will be interesting to see him transition to the pro level in SA.

Saros is an outstanding Junior goalie, but it remains to be seen how his lack of size will impact him going forward. Plus, Goalie development is a long and ardious curve, so fretting over not taking a 19 yr old Goalie in the previous entry draft seems a little silly.

Notes: Simpson and Gordon were named the Player of the Game for their respective teams … Grimaldi left the game with an injury early in the third period and did not return. However, Hakstol said he didn’t think the injury would be long-term … Hakstol said he was planning on starting Clarke Saunders in goal tonight, but the senior came down with the flu late last night and had to stay at the hotel tonight … Next Friday’s game against CC will be telecast live nationally on CBS Sports Network.

Connor Brickley being interviewed on this weeks "UVM Coach's Show" on WVMT. Little insight here, first of all he's a Bruins fan But also he was asked what have the Panthers asked him to work on over the years, and it's clear they've been grooming him as a 4th line grinder all along. He says they've talked with him and with his coach and they wanted him to simplify his game and work on getting the puck in deep and being physical. So if anyone's really wondering about his offensive output, it hasn't really been his role and isn't his expected role if he ever makes the big leagues.

At this point, expect he'll go to the ECHL if he gets signed when the season ends. UVM's having a solid season this year (finally) and his leadership and work ethic has been part of it, so that'll help him get noticed.

He's only a bust if you are expecting a top 6 point producer. If you lower your expectations to a 3rd/4th line energy guy that can kill penalties and forecheck with speed, he's still a very useful player.
