He's been getting a lot of time with Grigorenko (who is blazing hot right now!).

If he is as good as we think he is, he should dominate regardless

You're right. I do think though that he's numbers will be hit somewhat by simply not having the same kind of firepower around him. His play on the ice shouldn't change relative to his opponents, but without the juggernaut Sea Dogs of the past couple of years around him, opposing defenses will be able to spend more energy trying to shut Huberdeau down.

I disagree, it will certainly affect his production. Ever played on a way under average team? Its hard.

No matter his stats this year, he still is the same player going in. It appears he may encounter much more adversity this year than last year. Regardless, his skill will never diminish but his toughness and resiliency can only improve, which is a good thing. He will be just fine!

Listening the the Sea Dogs game tonight on the radio. Huberdeau with a goal and an assist in a 2-2 tie with Halifax at the end of the second period.

Hubs just dropped the gloves and went toe to toe with somebody. Sounds like he won the fight.

Im not saying it will be easy, and yes his ppg may go down, but the best of the best (in any sport) should have the ability to carry a weak team. We shouldnt have to put an # next to his numbers this year because his teammates arent as good! I'm sure he will be fine, and it will probably be good for his development to not play with an All-Star Junior team and instead face an adversity hes never dealt with before.

Quick update:

Huberdeau - 7 games, 8 goals, 4 assists, 12 points
Shaw - 7 games, 5 goals, 6 assists, 11 points
Trocheck - 7 games, 5 goals, 5 assists, 10 points
Racine - 7 games, 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points
Delnov - 4 games, 2 goals, 3 assists, 5 points
Hodges - 3 games, 2 goals, 1 assist, 3 points

Not sure but I'm assuming Hodges is injured (or getting scratched) because he hasn't been in the lineup for a while. Can anyone post about our other prospects in the CHL?

Corban Knight with a goal last night and Rocco Grimaldi with no points and six shots in an exhibition against Manitoba for the University of North Dakota. Hopefully Rocco has put his injury troubles behind him.

Well my guess is the 12. I know a lot of teams like Minnesota start then. But some teams like North Dakota start on the 19. By the way, the Minnesota Gophers had an exhibition Saturday night, Nick Bjugstad with an assist. He's listed at 6'6-220 on their roster. He looked huge on the highlights, what little I could see of him. Looks like he put on a few pounds. Kyle Rau with no goals and no assists.

Sounds like Rocco had a spectacular game, though. There was a good write-up this weekend about his game. I'll try to find the link, but apparently he hit the post twice, too.

Here's the link: http://www.inforum.com/event/article...roup/homepage/ and a quote from the article:

"Grimaldi rang a blast off the post on his first shift, nearly scored on a steal and partial breakaway a few minutes later and twice had the crowd of 10,477 buzzing about his play."

Rocco is amazing. Every time he touches the puck he creates a scoring chance. He gets to full speed in about 3 strides and then no one can catch him. After watching the exhibition game I would be very surprised if he didn't hit 50 points this year.

By the way, UVM is hosting Minnesota Nov. 23 & 24 (Thanksgiving weekend). I probably can't get tickets, but anyway Brickley will take on several of his prospective future teammates (and likely come up with the short end of the stick).

Brickley didn't have a point in UVM's 7-1 romp over Concordia in the exhibition game to open the season.

There's a good chance that will be televised. I'll definitely be watching.

Rocco Grimaldi with another great game. He had two goals and missed on a breakaway. Was all over the ice once again, playing in all situations. Knight had a solid game as well, was 21-26 on face-offs which is unbelievable. He finished the game with 1g, 1a.
