I'm surprised they sent him down but it doesn't look like he was going to play this week with everyone back. Doesn't look like they can rest anyone after losing to Philly. They are still fighting to keep home ice.

My thought was keeping him there just to get him ready for the playoffs since Lovejoy will not be back until the second round. But maybe they want him playing intead of sitting in he press box. It looks like it will be the battle of Pa. for both Pens teams so it's an easy travel call up. He'll only be a car ride away.
