So much for never doing undeserved call-ups. Kadri clearly deserved this one.

My guess is it's a method to maybe give Colborne a confidence boost. Hasn't been clicking offensively in the AHL, but his overall game hasn't been bad.

Apparently he's been playing well but has been absolutely snake bitten since he went down. There's also talk he's battling some kind of an injury.

Maybe he's filling in for Grabo? If so, he seems a little tall.

This shouldn't be a surprise. Carlyle is (and should be) trying to see as many different guys play before the end of the season.

I hope this serves as a confidence booster, we really need him in the AHL playoffs.

Who are you kidding? Overall game means offensively and defensively. He's been an absolute bust offensively since he was sent down. He hasn't scored in 19 games and hasn't created many scoring chances even though he's used on the 2nd PP unit. He never kills penalties, still can't win faceoffs and is never used at the end of games to protect a lead.

Do you actually watch their games or just like to pretend you know something about someone's "overall" game?

I watch the games, thanks. Probably 80% of them this season so far. He creates scoring chances so I'm not sure what you're watching.

No excuses for his offensive game drop off, but the rest of his game hasn't been bad. Overall game was probably poor choice of words, but I think you're also selling him short. He's not as bad as your making him sound. If he was, he would have been a healthy scratch with the amount of bodies they have on forward.

He's not used in a defensive role because there are obviously better options in the likes of Greg Scott and Jerry D'Amigo. The team is ripe with two-way types.

you do realize his is hockeyfuture's maple leaf prospect evaluator right? he probably watches more games and prospects than you can imagine. Not to mention has a blog about most of the games he watches about the Marlies.

My position with HF doesn't put me necessarily on a pedestal over another fan and their knowledge. I'm sure PPFan watches his/her fair share of Marlie games too, he/she just has a different opinion on Colborne.

Devereaux recalled 2009.

Hopefully this is in support of the tank and is just to help keep scores respectible.

Maybe a reward for having the right attitude?

I've never been Colborne's biggest fan either. He's got size but doesn't use it. He looks more like a 3rd liner to me. But a 3rd line C should have a 2-way game and use their tremendous size, so he's a tweener.

I still think he has promise as a good playmaker, I've always been impressed with that aspect of his game. His skating and shooting need to be improved a ton though.

hasn't shown much offensively, and doesn't play with a lot of fire either from what I've seen.

I think that this will help Joe. I watched him play a lot for a year a while ago and he is a great young man who never lacked confidence. I really believe that being sent down after he played reasonable well with the Leafs hurt his game. Lets hope that these 3 games kick start him again.

Hopefully this gets his confidece back.

We are way to hard on him. Hes still very young and as a big skilled guy, they take longer to develop.

Hopefully he can cement himself as our number 2 center next yr.
