Lucky for Buffalo the Leafs are really awesome at blowing multi-goal leads.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Although Scrivens is in net and he has played better than Reimer and the Monster. But a three goal lead has been lost a few times by the Leafs.

If they win they could go from the fourth last place and pass Annaheim, Islanders, Carolina and Minnesota for the 9th last pick. If I'm reading the standings correctly. Maybe Burke can pitch the season as a huge success then!

Oi Buffalo, it's the Leafs.

Man I would love to see the Leafs out of the running for a top 5 pick though.

reminds of the short course speed skating at the olympics, a couple of olympics ago. The guy wins in the quarters but figures he couldn't place high enough in the semi, so he just hopes falls over and he wins by default

Gold at the Olympics because everyone else fell and your plan was to be last and avoid a tumble if the group went down because it was your only hope. Got to love it when a plan comes together.

Let's focus on 1st in the West first.

President's trophy needs to be an afterthought right now, something "nice" that we could win but shouldn't be fought for tooth and nail.

Watching the Pittsburgh/Boston game, and saw a close-up of Paul Martin. First thought it was some 18 year old rookie but then saw his name plate. Pretty crazy how you can watch 100+ games a season and only now see a guy who usually plays 20+ minutes a game who's been in the league for 8 years.

Least intimidating hockey player ever.

Don't care about the PT. Let the Rangers deal with the added pressure. 1st in the West is good enough for me.

Agreed. It's an added pressure that we don't need.

We've done a terrific job flying under the radar this year and I'd like to keep it that way.

Maybe Scrivens got the tank message in the intermission?

Brian Burke is opposed to tanking... he does not do rebuilds. Mind you with his draft record it does make sense.

Randy Carlyle during the first intermission:
"Ok, we're going to rest the Kessel line for the second and third periods so they are ready to go for the last few games. Scrivens, we need you to become more amidextrous. You'll play wrong handed the rest of the game. And Komisarek, you're having a great game. We'll move you up to the top pairing!"

Sulzer has 4 points in the last 3 games. The real deal, or is he in a Rome-esque streak?

I watched the game Saturday vs the Leafs and I thought he looked pretty bad defensively. But seeing how the Sabres are missing Ehrhoff and Myers and Sulzer had to play big minutes that's not too surprising. Who knows, maybe the trade will work out for both Sulzer and Gragnani.
