Potential ideas for 1st slides:
Ovechkin fat pic: "Loves McDonalds"
Semin: "Doesn't care"
Laich: "Never calls AAA"
Ward: "LOL Regular Season"
Hendricks: "More like Shoot-ins"

i'm never generating content though, so don't listen to me
Just go with the Capitals logo with the statement "Because Shanahan hates us" followed by the Stanley Cup logo and the statement "and it would piss him off"

third slide- Washington Capitals playoffs 2012.

Simple elegant funny.

Another idea

first slide- An old picture of Hunter
text- "because legacies are overrated"

same second and third slide

First slide- Ovechkin from a few years ago
text- "Because in Russia 30 is > 60"

etc.
I like those

Here's one I threw together using some of puck832's ideas. With a little more time it would probably look better.

The animation is too quick. Slow it down by another second or so.

I'm not really comfortable with a Dale Hunter Sucks meme, even internally, much less to be shared with the HF class.

Do we really as a fan base forget everything that happened more than five seconds ago? He's only one of the top three or five Caps, all time.

Dunno. This one feels like Canadiens fans bashing Bob Gainey to me. It's a free country... but I don't get it. This may come down to how many years you watched Dale Hunter in a Caps jersey.

I'll argue that they are going for more of a "Dale Hunter blows" meme..tomato tomahto

I tend to agree with you though.

No relation just seems to have no relation to anything Caps wise. JoeB is great but he is not our theme nor team. I have been hearing announcers my entire life pointing out players with the same last name are not related.

Good stuff Drake. Who knew Dale would be the villain here.

There's not a player on this team who I want to win a Cup this year. But I am all in to get that thing into Hunter's hands. He should get the first handoff from Alex. Hell, he should be the one to take it if it comes to that. He put more into a single game than anyone on this roster put in all season.

I'm pretty sure we were shown how "all-time Caps" are treated in the Olie situation. Guy played his last ****ing game as a ******* Bolt.

GMGM, that one's more interesting. I liked him a lot, and still do for some of the moves he has made, and consistent restocking of the prospect pool, but it's just about time.

On Hunter, though, I think he gets the lifetime pass, even if it's true that the day will come, like it does for all coaches, when they probably ought to fire him. Dude literally bled buckets for the franchise.

Not sure how important that last game really is, to be honest. Hunter played his last game in Colorado; Kolzig in Tampa. Doesn't change anything.

I feel like if you can't have fun with having bad coaching then where are you? If he's going to be a sacred cow in that respect then things just get depressing too quickly (unless/until it becomes good coaching, that is, but since the advitars are more a reflection of the stretch run than anything they'd still be fitting).

I agree with you, to some extent. Good natured ribbing. Yet right there on the avatars, when interacting outside the family? Seems weird.

A lot of it doesn't seem very good natured at all, either. A lot of it is kids whose first-hand knowledge of Hunter is minimal. People who watched him are fairly conflicted about his coaching. It's unfortunate that it hasn't been working out, given his status here.

Were people taking such shots at Gibbs in his second go-round with the Redskins, or were they more pained that it was tarnishing a legacy? More the latter, I seem to recall. Even the gallows humor avoided taking direct shots at Gibbs.

Agreed. I'd go with the GMGM one. Especially with the selected quote.

Not to nitpick but Gibbs' legacy included 3 world championships. The fact that we have 4 jerseys in the rafters..with 5 and 6 on the way in short order, and no Cups is questionable as it is. This franchise has a strange legacy.

I think those are great!

The GMGM one is really funny.

As far as DH is concerned i was just spitballing, its self deprecating humor but I understand people's concerns. I actually like Hunter and am curious to see how he does in the playoffs. It was a joke based on a post I read a few weeks ago.

You can go more lighthearted with it, or even more pro caps with it like a Hendricks one with " Because he's got more moves than a barrel of monkeys"

the Weagle with the bag on its head might be a bit too much, I actually like the idea of going more positive.

like Ovechkin "Because Russian machine never break"

I don't know if funny or supportive is better. Just throwing out some ideas I don't normally get involved in this kind of thing.
