It's like Lundqvist has a personal vendetta against the Flyers. He's made some unreal saves against the them this year. Even is a year where he's more than likely going to win the Vezina trophy, he's looked like even more of world beater.
Other than that, crap start equals probable loss against a strong team like the Rangers. You can't win a game in the first, but you sure can lose it.
I thought we played well considering our lineup. If Kubina was a little smarter on any of the plays 4min minor penalty or 1st goal. Who knows...
We threw 40 shots and scored 3 goals, committed costly turnovers and ****ed up on special teams. Against good team like NY that's game.
Yeah. That Anisimov goal followed by a 5 on 3 was brutal.
The first few shifts were solid, but they have to cash in when they start that well. I hope that it will be a case where once they (finally) pot a goal early in a game, the monkey will be off their back and they'll be good to go.
So now that the Rangers have swept us during the regular season, does this mean we sweep them in the playoffs?Should the two teams meet.
I'll settle for just beating them.
In times like these I like to remember that in 2008 the Habs had a combined regular season record of 12-0 against the Bruins and Flyers. The Bruins took them to Game 7, the Flyers beat them in 5.

I dont want Kubina back. I said a few weeks ago. I will say it again. I didnt like the trade then and I still dont like it. let him walk and use his cap hit to get someone younger.
i rewatched the goal again, Kubina and i can't stress it enough clearly tried to lift the stick. Even JJ said that, i was watching flyers feed, not those NYR fans.
BUT apparently it was late my estimate is 0.5 second late AND it missed the stick completely and went all the way up into face.
I'm 100% positive he didn't do it on purpose.
Rewatch it all again, he is chasing player who is 1 + meter away, when he gets close he wantes lift stick, but in that moment its already late and its simply not possible to stop such momentum.
I'm not saying Kubina didn't play bad, he did, but itsn't about being smart, he tried hard and failed, boo him more...
I also beliee he isn't completely healed, but he can play and with Grossmannnnn out, i can imagine why he he is.
Cheers

Also notice this goal wasn't on him at all as everyone here fierlessly claim, its Bourdon who let the guy away ... but ye kubina is so bad
one guy say kubinas fault and everyone just follow

Sometimes we all tend to apply double standards when rating our defensemen.
We have the whipping boys like Carle and Kubina who can't do anything right and on the other hand there are the fan favourites such as Coburn, Bourdon, Timonen, Grossman who are hardly criticized at all no matter how poorly they play from time to time.

I agree with not wanting him back. I am upset though that he hasn't once tried him on the point for the PP. A right handed bomb is what I have always wanted to see on our PP, not sure why we have never tried it ?
Yes but did you see how Lundqvist played? Multiple spectacular saves. Not one or two.
Lundquist outplayed the Flyers yesterday almost single handendly, but the outcome of the game could have been very different had the Flyers played the first period.

kubina has still be pretty bad since he returned from injury
I know you're from his home country and all, but he's been terrible

i didnt say he wasnt bad, i actually think he was, but ppl said this goal was on him, and it hardly was, it was Bourdons player, Kubina had other guy. Then when he saw Bourdon lost him he tried to lift his stick and .. you know the rest
its like saying goal is on bryz while theres Bon in the net, i know its far from being same situation but ye..
yep im from his country, i think he was bad, so was Jagr that game
but this goal is no way on him .. thats what im talking about here

Lundy outplayed us in each game, tho in WC they vere really lucky
Most people say 1st goal was Kubina which it was and unnecessary late 4min minor penalty that resulted 5:3 pp and a goal did the trick. This is what most people say.
Speaking of Jagr.. He has 6 goals in almost 30 games.
Sure, Jags hasn't been scoring a lot of goals. And while I do believe he's trying a bit too hard to enter the zone on his own some times, there aren't many players in the world that can shield the puck and hold on to it and sustain pressure pretty much on his own. He's also setting up a lot of plays. Obviously I'd like him to score more, but he's doing enough offensively, and defensively too for that matter, to escape blame I'd say.
