They've already tried experiments like that, and they failed.

In the NHL he is a second pair d-man. He doesn't suck ass just because you are angry at the team right now.

They have not to my knowledge. Please point me to games they have. Wandell has played center in the top-6 this season (and produced).

Four years as season ticket holder...nearly $9,000 bucks lost on crap like tonight. Not a single playoff game. Woooo.

Not even counting the multiple road games I've made each season.

I feel like we were just outclassed tonight, felt like a bottom payroll team vs a top payroll team

Making Wandell a top six forward would do wonders for the race for Seth Jones in 2013.

No, I'm not angry at the team. I've never liked the Gobbler and said it was a crap trade at the time. And no, he's a 3rd line/PP specialist, not a top 4..Sorry. Oh,and he does suck ass..lol

Wandell has the tools for top 6 and he's proven he can be effective there.

No, he doesn't. He barely has the tools to be the below average 4th liner he is. What tools do you see? Is it his inability to win face offs, his terrible shot, his crappy puck handling, or his total lack of offensive vision that excites you? Skating fast is nice, but it takes more than that.

Wandangling around the perimeter and shooting at the goalie's chest. He is pretty great at that. Oh and he gets knocked on his ass a lot.

Right, this guy who's in the NHL, has absolutely no tools to compete at all. I have no idea why ANY scout or organization would take the chance on him. Or even spend money to scout him. Ludicrous right?! Thanks for swaying me.

Speed has a bigger impact than a lot of people actually think. Speed and being able to think quick. He has both, just has rough hands.

Sorry, i don't get you're point? Are you trying to say I had no negative responses in that thread? If thats your point, again sorry, I had the majority of anti-Gobbler/ Nieuy comments in that thread...They were deleted for certain reasons..lol Nice try though..lol If your just trying to change the subject, fine, Goligoski sucks and is not a top four d-man in the league..Fair?

He did get that one goal this season, obviously he's the next Crosby.

My point is that this discussion is tired and there is a thread for it.

Disagree very strongly on the basic player evaluation of Wandell. He actually has very good puck-handling skills. How many players on this team are capable of bringing the puck into the offensive zone and shooting the puck on goal? You've seen the team get even worse as his presence has been missed. Calling him a below-average 4th liner is ludicrous, especially when there are plenty of other below-average 4th liners that have been employed by the Stars -- you ought to be able to recognize what they look like. Clearly Wandell is not a top-6 forward -- I said he could fill-in with the top-6 and be a better choice than the others Gulutzan has used, primarily Burish. This is a coaching/personnel problem. Wandell should also be used extensively killing penalties. Just another missed opportunity to advance your own players' development thanks to poor internal evaluation.

It's his stone hands that keep him on the 4th line. If speed and no talent was all it took to be a top line player, Chris Conner would have made it.

He has the tools to compete for 4th line ice time on a team with a roster that has missed the playoffs four years in a row. Shouldn't that tell you all you need to know about his ability? This team needs to get better, and promoting one of your least talented player is no way to get there.

No doubt there are coaching problems, but I'd put Garbutt or Vincour in that spot before Wandell, and I don't think Vincour even has much to offer. Does 6 goals in a season for Wandell make him an above-average 4th liner or something?
