I saw Jack Downing on the training camp roster of Binghamton but I suppose it's a try-out, I don't saw anything about him being re-signed by the B-Sens unless he was on a two-year contract last year

Charlotte signs Dan Ellis to a PTO.

http://gocheckers.com/news/checkers/...rticle_id=1073

Weird, as Charlotte already has three goalies: Justin Peters, John Muse and Rob Madore. I guess this pushes Muse to the ECHL.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually the battle for the backup spot in Carolina. I know Boucher is still under contract but he is injured and he doesn't have much hockey left in him.

The Chicago Wolves have signed forwards Riley Emmerson and Trevor Kell.

The article doesn't specify it, but I believe that they signed one year AHL contracts.

I'll bet these are signings for Missouri and/or Kalamazoo. Doubt these guys get much time with the Wolves.

Albany released their training camp roster
http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/f...mp_roster_set/

On that list, there are a few players who dressed for Albany last year : Haczyk, D.Zajac, Whitney, McPherson and Baier. I wouldn't be surprised if most of them are signed to AHL contract. Unfortunately, the Devils' don't release this kind of info.

Former L.A King, Scott Parse is also on that list.

Tom Gulitti updated his blog entry. He confirmed that Haczyk, Zajac, McPherson and Whitney are signed to AHL contracts. He also mentions that Chris Mckelvie and Scott Parse are signed to AHL deal, aswell.

The Chicago Wolves have released forwards Riley Emmerson and Trevor Kell from training camp and assigned them to the Central Hockey League’s Missouri Mavericks.

I guess you can call it two-ways AHL/CHL contracts

http://www.ctwhale.com/news/detail/w...-ryan-flanigan

Quote:
Whale general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has signed forward Ryan Flanigan to an American Hockey League contract.

Flanigan, 24, got his first taste of pro hockey at the end of the 2011-12 season, skating in four AHL games with the Hamilton Bulldogs. The 6-1, 180-pound Rochester, NY native contributed a goal and an assist for two points, and registered four penalty minutes, with the Bulldogs, after finishing a four-year Hockey East career at Merrimack College. In 36 games with Merrimack last season, Flanigan scored 11 goals and added 18 assists for 29 points, good for tops on the team in both points and assists. He also served 42 minutes in penalties.

A bunch of players have been signed to AHL contracts (if I understand correctly press release semantics)

According to himself, Mikael Tam has signed with Worcester
@miktam52
Just signed my first AHL contract with the @WorcesterSharks !!
https://twitter.com/miktam52/status/254342746771447810

Raman Hrabarenka. 20 year old defenseman has signed his first professional contract with the New Jersey Devils on Friday.
http://www.theqmjhl.ca/article/hraba...medium=twitter
Since NHL teams can't sign players during the lockout, I believe that it's a AHL deal, even if the press release doesn't confirm it.

According to the ECHL's official site, Nick Petersen has been reassigned to Orlando from Houston. It probably means that he has a contract with Houston
http://echl.com/echl-transactions-oct-4-p179498

Another player reassigned by Houston is Mike Montgomery. He was re-assigned to Allen (CHL) according to this press release :
http://www.allenamericans.com/articl...articleid=1226

According to Larry Brooks :
@NYP_Brooksie
Matt Gilroy has signed AHL contract with Whale. Prodigal free agent D presumably will sign with Rangers when lockout ends.
https://twitter.com/NYP_Brooksie/sta...03988458082304

Steve McCarthy will start the season in Abbotsford, however I don't think that he signed a SPC. The press release isn't really clear.
http://www.abbotsfordheat.com/news/r...article_id=154
The Heat also announced that defenseman Steve McCarthy has been retained under agreement and will begin the American Hockey League season in Abbotsford.

Lake Erie announced their opening night roster of 28 players
http://lakeeriemonsters.com.ismmedia...3_ODroster.pdf
Karl Stollery, Ben Wilson, Jamie MacQueen, Dean Strong and Matt Tassone have made the team. However, I don't know if they are signed to SPCs or PTOs

Chicago has signed defenseman JEREMIE BLAIN to a Standard Players Contract (SPC) and assigned him to the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads.
http://www.chicagowolves.com/news/re...e-roster-moves

Tam's signing has been confirmed by Worcester.

As an Oilers fan, I was disappointed the Oilers didn't sign Blain considering he has good size and put up 50 points as a defenceman last year in the Q.

Additionally...the Griffins assigned forward Luke Glendening to the Walleye and signed forward Jeff Hoggan (HOH-guhn) to a professional tryout.
Quote:
Hoggan, 34, will start the season with the Griffins after attending training camp on a tryout. The Hope, British Columbia, native has played 412 career AHL games with Houston, Worcester, Providence and San Antonio, registering 211 points (111-100—211). Hoggan, who has also logged 102 NHL games and 11 points (2-9—11) for St. Louis, Boston and Phoenix, spent the past two seasons with Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams and the Hannover Scorpions in the DEL (Germany), recording 49 points (25-24—49) in 81 games.

The 6’3”, 206-pound defenceman played two games with the Raiders this season and scored two goals before receiving an invitation to Bulldogs training camp. First of all here is a list of players who made the opening night roster, however I don't know if they are signed to PTOs (try-out) or SPCs (one year) contract.

Abbotsford : *Steve McCarthy
Adirondack : Rob Bordson
Binghamton : Jack Downing
Connecticut : Scott Pitt, Shayne Wiebe
Houston : Kris Fredheim
Lake Erie : Karl Stollery, Ben Wilson, Jamie MacQueen and Dean Strong
San Antonio : John Lee, Jared Gomes

All I know about McCarthy is that he has been retained under agreement
http://www.abbotsfordheat.com/news/r...article_id=154
----
Here is a list of the confirmed PTOs

Charlotte : Dan Ellis
Grand Rapids : Jeff Hoggan
Hamilton : Darryl Boyce
Manchester : Peter Mannino
Norfolk : Jay Rosehill
Rockford : Brett Lebda
St. John's : Brian Sutherby, Derek Whitmore
Texas : Cam Barker, Taylor Vause

-----
I'll add the following players to the list since they were assigned (just like other players on AHL contracts) to the ECHL or the CHL. It seems like some teams (*cough* Binghamton, Houston, Lake Erie *cough*) aren't able to issue a simple press release saying that player X is signed to a AHL contract.

ECHL
Brian O'Hanley assigned to Cincinnati by San Antonio
Drew MacKenzie assigned to Utah by Abbotsford
http://echl.com/echl-transactions-oct-10-p179619

Danny New, Brad Peltz assigned to Elmira by Binghamton
http://echl.com/echl-transactions-oct-7-p179547

Nick Petersen assigned to Orlando by Houston
http://echl.com/echl-transactions-oct-4-p179498

CHL
Montgomery, Mike (D) assigned to Allen by Houston (AHL)
Tassone, Matt (F) assigned to Wichita by Lake Erie (AHL)

The Denver Cutthroats announced today rookie defenseman Markus Lauridsen has been assigned to the team by their AHL affiliate,
the Lake Erie Monsters.
http://www.oursportscentral.com/serv...es/?id=4498596

According to a Quebec newspaper, Gabriel Beaupré has signed a two-way (AHL/CHL) contract and was assigned to the Denver Cutthroats.
