Thanks Sens

Today it was announced that the Ottawa Senators would play a pre-season game at the Barrie Molson Centre against the NY Islanders. This will be my first NHL game in 3 years and I am excited to be going as long as I can get tickets!

Wow, is it just me or are those tickets pretty pricey for an exhibition game?

Great stuff. The competition for spots on the Sens next year is going to be incredibly fierce and you should see a darn good game from them.

Probably because the arena seats 4200 so they want to make money off of it. Cheaper than driving down to Toronto to sit in the nose bleeds.

And it's to watch an NHL team... couldn't resist!

The real question is, who are you going to cheer for?

There's gotta be a bigger arena than 4200 nearby in a non-NHL city. No?

London has 9,000/10,000, but they already get the Flyers on an annual basis. Oshawa and Mississauga have 5,5000/6,000, but they're probably too close to Toronto, which takes away from the "special" aspect of such games (although Melnyk's ownership of the Majors would make a Sens game in Missy a no brainer). Kingston, Windsor, Sault St. Marie, Peterborough, etc are about the same as Barrie.

Don't thank us yet.

Who did we send to the last non-NHL location?

I have the distinct recollection that we sent like 1 opening roster guy during this year's exhibition season for Hockeyville.
