I watched this game long enough to understand that you need to have grit and play dirty at times to win something.
For the most part I am ok with what Malkin and Crosby doing on the ice. I appreciate chippy play. I like it for the most part, gets me going . In the end, they are not giving players concussions or brake bones and blow knees, putting careers in jeopardy.
What I am not ok with is how refs letting them get away with it on regular basis while calling penalties one way. You can not do that. This is BS. Unacceptable.
Got to love what Berube has to say lol... You remember Berube right?
If Crosby or Malkin pulls their usual **** whenever they face the b's again this season, I seriously hope Thornton just jumps them, pounds their face in and takes the instigator. Why Thornton you ask? Well we can afford to lose him for 17 minutes.

..Everything he says is true. I watched this game and the garbage they both get away with is ridiculous. Crosby is slashing away at G's knees at the face-off circle. He gives Schenn a cheap shot which is why he got that little shove to the back from Schenn. Malkin takes Giroux down and then starts banging his head in to the ice. Neither of them drop the gloves to back it up and the refs let them get away with it
Newsflash, stars get away with stuff.
I'm sure none of the star players on the Flyers get away with stuff....
I don't think Crosby is dirty at all, but I do think Malkin is quite dirty; and I've been in conversations with Pens fans that agree. Malkin is just the type of player that does questionable things when he is frustrated (like many, many players); and I don't really have an issue with it. Give it right back to them, and hopefully if there are any calls, they go both ways.
Eh, it's give and take. Crosby wasn't clueless, he knew what he did to get that crosscheck. He didn't force the issue with the officials when they waved off the penalty after the goal, and he certainly didn't look upset standing at the bench.
This is the ****ing NHL, this is tough, gritty hockey.
Also if you're going to believe everything you see on TV, at least give the benefit of the doubt to the stuff that the camera misses, which is a lot. People are going to ***** that the cameras loooove Crosby and Malkin... anyone care to venture a guess as to why they seem to be such dirty players, comparatively? Try this logic on for size: When the camera loves you, it will inevitably pick up all the dirt as well. So while other players may be making similar slashes, holds, face-pushes-into-ice, the cameras are too happy watching our stars to care, which means they will see more "dirty plays" from them as a result.
It goes both ways. I just try to enjoy the game rather than focus on the "WELL YOU STARTED IT!!!" ********. It's NHL hockey, nobody started anything, that's how the game is played.

I DO have a problem with them doing antics like this on the ice. Not sure why you would condone this stuff.
Crosby slashes and crosschecks just as much as Briere. He spears people in the nuts too.
You're just providing more evidence of certain Pens fans being in denial.
I'm not saying Crosby doesn't slash and crosscheck but he's not the guy with a 3 game suspension and Yes he would have been suspended if he'd done what Briere did to Nielsen. I'd rather be slashed on the legs than be crosschecked in the face.

Send a message right away.
Give Crosby and Malkin a 7 minute power play. That my friend, is genius playoff stradegy!!
The fight wasn't about the hit. The hit was a catalyst but the fight was retallation for pushing crosby from behind.
The Flyers didn't like the hit and the Penguins didn't like the cross check on Crosby. However, the Flyers players were the ones that made a beeline to Vitale after the hit. Of course the Penguins were going to respond.Nothing wrong with what both teams did.
Just because they're the two best players in the world doesn't mean they aren't the two dirtiest players on their team. The writer is probably right. They get away with so much.... I love them (Especially Geno) for their talent, but they are dirty.

Like I said.. For the most part I am ok with it. Yes there are times when I am cursing and screaming and want Crosby and Malkin killed but mostly because they do not get any calls against them on the ice.
Wings fans know exactly what I am talking about. so called royal treatment and calling penalties one way

ZOMG THEY ARE SO DIRTY!!
both of my examples were intents to injure. hardly hockey. both should have been suplimental disclipline. Who throws a punch with their elbow, honestly?
