calvin "booker" washington. i found out that my man booker died in his sleep of natural causes.
book helped keep me alive while i did my 19 years in that hell hole called the maryland house of corrections at jessup. if not for book and my cellie kelso, id probably be dead or a prison *****.
the world lost a real good man sunday. a lifer or not, calvin was a great man. a true friend, and a loving father. his twin daughters gave him his only reason to live. you could not stop him from talking about them....
most of you dont know what true friends are.....you think a true friend is someone who gets you high, or gets you drunk, or gets you laid, or helps you in a fight. let me clue you in kids, a real, true friend is someone who will push you out of the way so you dont get stuck, and then he sticks a mother ****er in the chest. THAT is a true friend.
how many of you have ever had a friend like that? not the ones that would talk about doing it, or say they would do it........but WOULD actually doi it? THAT there is a true friend.

Gotta say though, just because someone hasn't had a friend stick a someone in the chest to protect them does not mean they don't have any true friends. Most people don't put themselves in a position where they're at risk of getting shanked. There's lot's of other ways to be a true friend.

so one of your "true" friends would do that? can you name one of your friends that would? on the streets, he could say he did it trying to defend your life. and probably get off with probation-----provided mom and dad have enough money-----but it doesnt work like that on the inside. mommy and daddy cant buy you out of another 15 to 20 years.
if you think your friends are that true to you, thats great man....and you better do anything you can to help them when they need it.....

I've done time, myself, and you can't even compare "prison" friendship to "outside" friendship. I've got friends that I had before I went in, and I don't look at them like they're any less "true", because they weren't in there with me. Terrible comparison.
