His happy to get a try out spot, and fully understand that Pär Mårts (Swedens coach) wants to see him play before making a final call. That due to the injury and the lack of ice-time in the NHL.
He have no to hopes to play the last to games for Edmonton. He thinks Edmonton will trade him to another team, probably during the draft. "There will be no more Edmonton for me, so im looking forward".
He don't think Edmonton will send him to OKC, coz they won't risk losing him on waivers.
He says there was about 10 NHL clubs who was intrested in him in the fall last year.
He hope to get another chance in NHL, and wants to play top-6 and get a chance to prove him self.
The season has been tough. Primary with the injury, then the inconsistent ice-time in the Oilers.

My opinion regarding the interview; Omark gets a few questions and he anwsers them honestly. There is no whine here.
Well let the rant begin! (Hope you don't dissapoint me Replacement )
But i think we all can agree that most certain Omark has played is last game in the Oilers. Obviously this have been a lose-lose situation for both Oilers, Omark and the fans.
I don't think the Oilers really lose. They just don't have room for him. They have better players to fill their top 6 with. Putting Omark in their top 6 would be them losing.
I really wish he would have made it here. I like him alot, a very honest and likable person it seems. Of course he would like to play in the WC rather than the AHL playoffs. I don't think anyone would prefer the AHL over WC, actually.
Bye bye. I'm looking forward to him eventually playing in Europe so the oilers can be validated in this case. Just like when Schremp left. These guys simply aren't good enough.
He really just came over to the Oilers at a bad time, year or two earlier and he could have been force fed all the ice time he could handle. Hall, Eberle and Hemsky are far superior players at this point, and his one dimensional skillset isn't nearly strong enough to compensate for his short-comings to be able to fit in on the top two lines at wing.
Hope he catches on somewhere, but without the speed to seperate from defenders or the size to not get man-handled, seems unlikely he'll stick long term. To bad really, his swagger and lack of a PR filter makes him more interesting than your usual bland canadian hockey player.
its to bad other teams GM's dont value omark the same way some posters here do, it would be awesome to trade him for all of columbus' draft picks
Just unnecesary post, really?
On topic, am looking forward to see Omark in the wc, he seems really excited to play icehockey again. And will be exciting to see where he ends up after this season.
I would've liked him to have a more consistant shot playing in our top six. I feel bad for him - he's one of the most creative players we have. Hopefully he can still carve out a career for himself somewhere. You can't blame him for wanting to make a living and getting in the NHL as soon as he can. We just have too many small forwards in the top six already. The Hemsky signing was his end.
The Oilers need to make an effort to get bigger/tougher in their top 6, which is why I said before the season that Omark was gone after this year. There's no doubt in my mind that he can make it in the NHL though. For a long time, I've thought the Oilers should try and swing a deal with Nashville for one of their defensemen (although the Oilers would likely have to add to the deal).
I never saw him as a full time Oiler despite some insisting that he would be a suitable replacement for Hemsky.
Tambellini made a mistake by not trading him last offseason, i'm sure that Omark had some value after a 27 pt in 51 game performance last season and now, we'll be lucky to get a 4th rounder for him. It was obvious that he wasn't going to get a chance in the top 6 so there was really no point in keeping him around.
Ah well, no big deal i suppose. Good luck to him.
I like him, he deserved a chance. I realize he does not fit in Edmonton long term but again mismanaging another asset so we do not get full value for him. Oh well Renney will hopefully be gone and MPS and Lander can play a more significant role next year.
Obviously this have been a lose-lose situation for both Oilers, Omark and the fans.
Well I don't see it that way. Good bet for a 4th rounder.
Thanks for the translation of the interview. He seems eager to improve himself and frustrated rather than bitter. Thats a healthy reaction. Hard to tell anything from a quick interview but it still seems as if he expects to call the shots and play Omark Hockey. If true that's not what any NHL team will particularly enjoy.
So. Omark is as good as gone. Paajarvi's in the AHL looking more like a guy with only 3rd line upside, and Lander got his lunch handed to him in the NHL and needs a lot of work.
The future for the Oilers doesn't look quite as swede as it used to.

Why does it have to be top six? Even after the season we just had people don't want some skill in the bottom six?
Omarks evil!
Omarks should ****!
I'll be glad when he's gone!
I hope they bury him in the minors!
They should trade him to the KHL!
Am I doing this right stepford oiler fans that let the media and management lead them around by the snout?
The only group that looks stupid is the Oilers management. If Omark wasn't in their plans they should have kept him in OKC. Now they have an asset that didn't have much value to begin with and they are killing that value by having him up here and healthy scratching him every night. Honestly I'd be going ****ing bonkers if I was Omark, gotta applaud him for remaining quiet for the most part and just going with the flow.

I don't think it has to be top 6, but when you have Smyth-Horc-Jones as your "3rd" line. Then Omark would be playing no higher than the 4th in place of Hordi(which is fine by me. We get much softer but this team is already soft so it doesn't really matter. The issue here I think would be Omark being unsettled by being stuck on the 4th line.

I can't help thinking somewhere prior to this season the Oilers soured on Omark for some reason and vice versa. I don't think his quotes in the media (Swedish or NA) helped his cause along the way. He always sounds like he only has one foot in the boat and could jump out at any time. I think both sides have lost, Omark loses another year trying to break into the NHL and the Oilers risk losing another top six forward...maybe? It is unfortunate because how nice would it have been to see what Omark could do with a steady diet of Eberle and RNH the last couple weeks. Oh well, cya Linus...we'll always have spinorama

That's the puzzling part. I don't really think it's killing his value all that much, but he could be playing in OKC helping them out.
