Foligno named ROTM

http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/...the-month.html

Quote:
Marcus Foligno has been sudden impact for the Buffalo Sabres, manning a spot on what's suddenly become the team's top line with Tyler Ennis and Drew Stafford. The Son of Mike has gotten plenty of notice around the NHL and added a big honor today when the league named him its rookie of the month for March. Foligno has six goals, five assists and a plus-10 rating since joining the team March 9 in Ottawa.

Good for him.

To be honest, never expected this would even be a possibility, even if I knew he'd be up for almost a full month.

Well deserved, his offensive outburst and chemistry with Ennis and Stafford has been amazing. On top of that tho I just love the energy that the guy plays with, you can tell how bad he wants it every time hes out there. We could use some more of that on this team. His production will obviously tail off some and he'll have his struggles as a young player, but if he brings the same attitude and drive he's shown so far I look forward to what he can do for this team.

He has 12 games total so far on his belt and I think the limit is 25 games.

Hoping 71, also hoping Hodgson makes it a tougher choice for next jersey, right now I have a team signed Ennis in white but want to get a blue one next.

Foligno is definitely the next jersey. But do I want the 82 as something semi-unique or wait to see if he changes it...

He shouldn't change numbers after the success he's had

I hope to see him turning into something like Ryan Callahan, maybe less offense but more physical, and all the same intangibles and leadership.

Thats what I posted earlier in the main thread. Can he be similar to Ryan Callahan, the glue to a line, pesky do it all 50 points. I hope so plus hes bigger and tussles better. maybe not quite the skater but still.

He is just a beast, he may not look as tough as Kassian but I'm pretty sure he's tougher, what a snipe by Darcy to realize that and deal Kassian for a big return

Panthers fan here. Was watching your game last night (and very upset you made that incredible comeback) but I have to say, Foligno really impressed me. He was hitting, fighting, putting up points. Quite a player you got there

Good for him, he has enjected this team with quite a spark (along with Ennis), I find myself wondering who that guy skating the puck up the ice is, and it's Stafford with rushes. Who would of thought 63 & 82 could have such an impact on 21. Just nice.
