Brock Nelson Agrees to Entry Level Contract
Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday
#Isles have agreed to terms with 2010 1st rounder Brock Nelson on an entry-level deal, according to a source.
Awesome. Wonder if he can play for Bridgeport in the playoffs.

Brock Signs!
Quote:
Per @StapeNewsday Brock Nelson accepts #Isles invitation to leave North Dakota, signs ELC. Very solid prospect.

Looking at the Islanders roster and I see no reason to think he cant make it next year.

Hopefully Rhett re-signs. Ullstrom should be up next year, I am hoping Cizikas stays in the AHL next year, I like what I saw but I think some more development would be best.
Bridgeport could be Calder Cup winners next year. Deep threats.

I hadn't even thought of him, in terms of making the NYI roster next season.

This is the second-best news I've heard in the past 2 days about someone named "Brock".

I have no problem with him being given a shot to EARN a spot with the Isles next season. As long as it isn't handed to him.
The guy finished 3rd in the entire NCAA in goals. He could be ready.
My hope is that he gets sent down to start next year, but dominates the AHL and is brought up in December or January to form a physically dominant line with Bailey and Okposo.

Now sign Anders Lee and somehow get Justin Shultz (the Ducks prospect) to sign here and I will be happy.

Color me surprised, I figured when he didn't sign right after UND got eliminated he would probably play one more year. I wonder if they let him play a couple games in NY or if he will get sent right away to Bridgeport

He can sign a ATO contract or he can play a game on LI and burn a year or his contract.
