Hunter

McSorley (a good #4 defenseman for a while, NHL +/- leader)

Williams
Probert

Domi
Nilan

Hunter

Berube
Ray

edit: turns out I 100% agree with the OP!

edit again: 9 of these 10 players were active in the 89-90 season. Only Williams wasn't.

The next 5 make it more interesting. How would you rank the top 15?

2905 Pat Verbeek
2891 Chris Chelios
2792 Dave Manson
2785 Scott Stevens
2634 Donald Brashear

Chelios is 1
Stevens is 2

Verbeek is definitely behind Tocchet, close with Dale Hunter, I could see arguments for both.

Manson at his best was better than McSorely.

I would slot Brashear above Domi.
