Two weeks, and we can finally breathe easy as Leafs will win the lottery.

If i were Burke getting 2013 picks would be a high priority..

2013 is going to be a great summer for hockey and the Leafs!!! A very strong draft class and the strongest UFA market ever.

this summer is a bust when considering free agents past Parise and Suter... AND this draft is filled with euro busts

2013 is the year

^ Don't worry; we will still be holding a lottery pick in 2013 draft (unless we trade it away ).

Rockinz for now its the year...it can easily change, rrecall this year was touted pretty high.

but atm only three names really spark out to me in the 2013 draft class.

Barkov, Mckinnon and possible max domi( i have to watch more of his games)

Mackinnon is a special talent, who ever gets him will be very very happy.

Max Domi reminds me a lot of a more talented Brad Marchand. Plays the game with a lot of intensity --- he's a little ball of hate.

I think he'll shoot up in the 2013 rankings by this time next year.

Seth Jones? Sean Monahan?

Both are very good prospects.

Leafs will get lottery pick next year as well.

In the East it is important to watch the ball and not the Leafs.Every team in the playoffs is better now and next year.Outside are Washington, clearly more talent,Buffalo now resurging,TB with 2 first rounders and rebuilding properly under Stevie Y,Carolina playing better under Muller and the soon to be improving NYI.The only team we are better than is Montreal who will have a higher draft pick.

Burke's shortcuts have failed and his throw money everywhere approach is useless. While they play smoke and mirrors every other team improves more. The east is simply too competetive for Burke, who didn't build Vancouver.Gambled on Cloutier, while saying the same malarky and inherited Anaheim and was gift wrapped Pronger. Not only will this team miss the playoffs next year,we are a lock for a lottery pick in the East.Be honest with yourself, look at the East and ask yourself, which teams are we better than next year?Maybe Montreal, who demands a winner.

With the 3rd pick in the 2013 NHL draft the Toronto Maple Leafs select......

Or does Burke trade those picks to try and save his job while deep sixing this team for another decade? We are on dangerous ground.

I agree that this years draft was touted to be very good a year ago but then Murray fell of a bit from his original Scotty Nieds 2.0, Galchenyuk was Malikin 2.0 then got hurt and it seemed more and more CHL forwards kept slipping on the ice.

This draft for me might produce the least amount of NHL players in the 1st round in a long time... Look at the track records of euro players and D-men taken in the 1st round.

if anything the 2nd and 3rd round could produce some gems.

Sorry,East is too competitive for Burke's antics.

He has already been outmanuevered by every other GM,except Montreal's.If he hadn't wasted so much money on LACK we could of outbid NYR for Richards. There will be no number one goalie can save this team, short of Miller and a handful.Go look at the East with an honest eye. There is no quick fix,Burke made the wrong move right away and continued by throwing money at junk and praying.Burke is a gambler, and that just wont work in the East,it is too competitve for Burke's antics.Going to parades and overseas has nothing to do with hockey. What do you say,Disneyland this year?

We still wouldn't of gotten Richards, he wanted to go to New York from the beginning. They didn't even have anyone show up to try to lure him to play for the Rangers.

the best time for this team to blow it up honestly.. We can all wait for another 5 years! i know i can... do what florida did and trade all your older guys for picks and stack up on them. This year and next year, than by 2014-2015 we'd be in a pretty good shape to just make a playoff push! than 2015-2016 we'd be a very good team. look at blues! they have such a good young team, we need to draft. This stupid shortcut **** is anoyying!!! what makes you think its going to work? if it really did, other teams would also do it..

I would like us restock our 3rd and 4th round picks which we lost in trades.

Morrison has picked up some gems on these rds, Mckegg, Devane, Leivo, Olden, Granberg.

At times we forget about these lower rds, we did add a 6th rounder but also lost a 7th I do believe.

That's what they said about this year though, draft wise at least. That it was going to be a strong class throughout the 1st round and there was probably not many players that wouldn't succeed. Now it's 'You better be picking in the top 5/10 if you want an impact player'

Isn't every year a strong draft class, until Feb when it changes to only top 10 will be first liners?

Sean monghan
Seth jones
Hunter shinkaruk
Mackinnon
Barkov

All five of these players are already superior to the top 5 this year imo
