I'm not a "fan" of either Buffalo or Toronto but that 5th goal is very upsetting.

It's hard to invest much as a fan when that kind of stuff happens. What the heck was the referee thinking?

I had the same feeling with the refs buying the Letang embellishment last night which in large part determined the outcome of that game.

That was the longest scramble I have ever seen in my life. Couldn't believe the refs never blew the whistle. Was shocked when Buffalo tied it. I thought the game was over when the Leafs made it 5-3 but I kept on watching, hoping for the tank.

Meh, whatever. This isnt exactly the first dubious call that directly resulted in us losing the game this season. Bozaks non-goal, spezza sitting on reimer and Doughty's missed offside are the few that come off the top of my head. I also remember us winning a game we shouldnt have in pittsburgh because of reffing. It happens. Hopefully now people can stop saying that the refs are always on our side...

If this had occured earlier on in the season, I would have flipped my **** but I really couldnt care now, because that 1 point we lost has kept us in 26th place. And who knows, it might have demloralized our team enough to lose the next two games? Fingers crossed!

Btw, I want the Sabres to make the playoffs. I feel they're a better fit than the Caps.
I really wanted Foligno in the 09 draft and we could have had him. Ryan, Blacker and Devane all taken ahead of him.

Maybe you dont have replays in Toronto
Toronto is the richest franchise in the nhl. Think Buffalo, but twice as rich.

We have video replays.

I'm not going to say that the refs made it happen deliberately but they definitely gave the Sabres as much leeway as humanly possible.

I really don't care about the goal or the game itself, I just find the whole situation hilarious.

I can't believe the NHL refs can be bought and sold for a price as cheap as Buffalo can afford.

I'd say refs in Buffalo are threatened with "Give calls in our favour or you will be stuck for another year in the city where view from windows are ghetto"

No money needed

Seeing that makes me even more pissed, the ref didn't have NO CLUE where the puck was. Watch 1:35 to 1:43. It took him a few seconds to find it in the back of the net.

The ref lost the puck,

Best for the leafs to lose
Best for the sabres to win
Best for the NHL for Sabs to win.

To be fair Leopold knew where the puck was when he was trying to pry his stick from Scrivens and even after he shot it in he didn't know it went in right away...and 1:35 -1:43 was slow motion it took him one second at most.

Same. Sure if it happened in the playoff race I'd be choked but at this point screw it. It's insane how obvious the refs wanted Buffalo to win that game though.
