Montoya/Michigan Loose to Wisc. 3-1 (Good News/Bad News)

Bad News: They Lost

Good News: Montoya played a great game according to my friend who was there. I think that is more important for us Ranger fans.

The Maize and Blue then took three straight penalties at 4:41, 5:57 and 7:48 to give the Badgers more than five consecutive minutes of power-play time, including 54 seconds with a five-on-three advantage. Goaltender Al Montoya (Glenview, Ill.) made numerous stops during the stretch, including a great pad-stacking save on Ross Carlson on the left side.

Montoya prevented the deficit from increasing when he stopped Licari on a breakaway attempt with under two minutes left in the first period.

Let's just hope Montoya and/or Ranger brass don't freak out and bring him to Hartford next year, I think it would be beneficial for him to stay in Michigan another year, if for nothing less to prevent a bad clog of goalies with Blackburn and Lundqvist expected over here as well.

Unless they change the waiver rules, Blackburn would have to clear waivers to play in Hartford.

Which has only been stated 9 million times {yet people still dont get it}.

Having said that, Montoya is ready for the pros next season. Michigan as a whole has been an underachieving team {Despite their success} but Montoya has been as solid as ever for them.
