Marginally but he has been fairly injury prone throughout his career

Dastars' roster wishlist

Keep

Benn
Eriksson
Ryder
Lehtonen
Goligoski
Daley
Larsen
Bachman
Fiddler

Shop lean towards keep

Ribeiro
Nystrom
Fistric
Dvorak
Garbutt
Wandell

Shop lean towards move

Ott
Souray
Burish

Leave

Morrow
Robidas
Pardy
Dowell
Petersen
Vincour

I ready to get rid of Vincour, he hasn't shown me much. More of the same. I don't think anybody else on that list really warrant any explanation.

At his current state, in the very least vincour is a very good 4th/3rd liner.

For ****'s sake, what's with all the hate for Vincour? He's already a great 3rd liner and still has top 6 potential.

A great 3rd liner scores goals on occasion.

His shooting is remarkably accurate. He always hits the goalie square in the logo on his chest.

Let's be clear here. Vincour played 10 minutes a game this season. He was used as a 4th liner. His production was in line with someone being used as a 4th liner.

You don't put 3rd lines out there to score.

He's had one year without much offense. ONE year. Are you even giving him a chance?

Vincour has skills, I am just not sure those skills help win hockey games since they don't really involve scoring goals or getting assists. How much more time do we have to wait for him to develop?

He hasn't even had a year. He's played 46 games.

Yes, why isn't he fully developed at 21 years old?

I knew I was going to draw criticism for that, he has about as much business being in the top 6 as Burish,I.e. none. I foresee the 3rd line being Ny, Fids, Devo. That leaves the fourth line to Vincour, I'd rather plug in Garbutt or Wandell or random tough guy (not enforcer) and let some other AHLers have a shot. No room left for Vincour. I've seen what he can bring, I wasn't impressed. I've seen it for two years, all the same. Big guy doesn't use his size most the time and can't finish to save his life. If we are going to have him in a top 6 role again next season even part of the time then might as well keep him because it won't matter we wont be a good enough team to make the playoffs.

I feel like everyone expects him to be exactly like Benn or Eriksson, and if he isn't, he's a failure.

Face it. Both of them are players that come along once every 5-6 years. Vincour isn't that, and doesn't have to be that to be successful.

Right now vincour has like a poor mans case of 'all the tools no toolbox'. He's big, a strong skater, has a hard shot, but as of right now he uses all of those skills to put the puck right into the goalies chest. If he can learn how to get into higher percent areas and work on his accuracy a bit, then he could become a valuable 2nd liner.

Nystrom is not a 3rd liner. He had a great year, got bumped up to it, and never got split up. He's a 4th liner in reality, and Vincour should be taking his spot soon.

5-6 years? More like once every 20 years for Benn, once every 15 years for Loui.

Nah. Nystrom is a 3rd liner. His offense would be wasted on the 4th line. Vincour should be taking Dvorak's spot. It's the natural order of things.

His window is closing every day. The new generation of prospects will be breathing down his neck soon, and it is on him to take advantage of his 46 game opportunity. Instead he barely outscored Jake Dowell. I want him to succeed etc, but if it came down to Vincour and Glennie/Smiths/Chiasson for ice time, who would you prefer be out there?

I do fully expect Vincour to be back so for the most part this is moot but I will gladly eat crow if I'm wrong but I wont be sad in the least if tomorrow is his last game in a Stars I

True, I wasn't sure what to put there, just more trying to pint out that they were generational talents.

I don't see the conflict. Vincour is a 3rd line prospect. Those guys (other than A. Smith) are top 6 prospects. There's room for all of them if they deserve it.

Whoever proves to be a better play. Just because they're shiny new prospects doesn't mean they'll automatically be any better than vincour. Are you going to be saying the same thing next year when chiasson steps in and does everything right, but can't put the puck in to save his life?
