Rupp is most likely out for the next few games. I mean, he got really tagged by Shelly and there is good reason to believe (did not see reports) he suffered a concussion/facial damage that will keep him off the ice for some time. Hopefully not, but I think Pittsburgh will be bringing their dirtiest game versus us on Thursday.
How would you like to see this dealt with?
I would sit Gaborik, MDZ plus Richards (Biron in net), insert John Scott and callup Deveaux plus Wellman (or Avery ) We have 2 AHL callups left I believe.
I think this game will get dog ugly, especially on away ice.
Pending the results here, I might rest McD & Girardi in the final game of the year as well to give them a good breather before the POs.
And if the Pens pull any BS - Then put out Deveaux - Boyle - Prust Scott - Bickel on the ice all at once. I would really like to see this happen. I can really see them targeting our players as this game means basically nothing...
And then we beat them on the Ice & the scoreboard 5-4 in OT with our depleted "Ogelthourpe lineup"...

Avery is not an option what so ever. Even if Torterella and Sather really want to, they could not bring him up.
Mike Rupp did not play after taking several blows to the head during a fight at 15:08 of the first period during which he was knocked down by Jody Shelley. It is expected that John Scott will take Rupp’s spot in the lineup tomorrow night in Pittsburgh.
Martin Biron will all but certainly get the start against the Penguins after having backed up the last 10 behind Henrik Lundqvist.

Something like this would probably lead to fines for the Rangers.
Last 2 games,I would advise sitting Henke,Lundqvist,Callahan,Gaborik,Richards,Girardi McDonagh and DelZotto.
Sounds like alot,but EC is a lock.better be safe than sorry.Ill be very dissapointed should any of the above get injured,especially Henke saying his hand is aggravating him.

Maybe we should look into just forfeiting this game, that would rest everyone.
If history is anything, Torts won't sit anyone that isn't already hurt. With that being said, as RangerBoy pointed out, Rupp and Hank sit out the next one with Scott and Marty coming in. Maybe he sits one of the D-men too (Girardi?)
I would be okay with Deveaux and Newbury being brought up and playing Scott. Sit Boyle, Rupp and Prust to rest a bit as they seem to be the most banged up.

I think if they are gonna call up someone, they obviously should call up Wellman, just to check him out as a player. We know what Deveaux and Newbury can offer, and JAM would need a contract, Wellman is really the only other eligible player, but it would hurt the Whale in their last games too, so he obviously shouldn't stick around for the playoffs, unless he plays superb.
I dont know man! i think better be safe than sorry.....playoffs dont start til 4-11 i think,so there is still going to be 5 or so days off till p.o start....players still skate in scrimmages and practices...2 games sint going to ruin the team if you sit6 or 7 key people.praying nothing happens....I dont wanna say much and jinx the club.
You have to think that everyone's playing, unless they are nursing a minor injury. The only person who I would consider giving a night off to (besides Hank) is Girardi. He's logged a ton of minutes this year and has taken a beating. Let Woywitka play the last 2, to get some rust off him just in case there's an emergency in the playoffs. I would even entertain letting McDonagh sit one of those game.
