You might want to the try the Canada-Russia semifinal at the world juniors in Ottawa a few years ago. I wonder if that's the game you heard about. They don't get much better than that. Also the three-game final of the 1987 Canada Cup between Canada and Russia. Probably the best hockey ever played.

Definitely biased from me being a Leafs fan but this is the greatest regular season NHL game I have ever seen. 7 minute YouTube recap below. (Bad Quality, sorry)

Keep in mind that this game is in BUFFALO! You might be fooled with all the Toronto fans there
