A Win on Thursday clinches #4 seed

Call me old-fashioned but I want home ice in the first round. Philly is a tough place to play in. Maybe Consol will be too for once?

Also, winning Thursday will make Saturdays game irrelevant. They could play it "safe" because who knows what kind of thuggery and cheap-shots the Cryers will attempt

Thursday = must-win game imo

Yes, they should strive to win Thurs and play safe Sat. In this case, Geno needs 2 goals tomorrow for 50, if he is limited time/ not playing Sat.

Pens have had better luck playing IN Philly than they have at Consol vs. Flyers. I don't care if we get #4 or #5 seed, I just want this **** to get started next week.

That being said, I'm hoping that the Devils win out and Philly loses their last two. There's still a chance we end up playing New Jersey in the first round, a slim chance but I'd rather have home ice against them if at all possible.

A Penguins win or a Flyers loss in regulation clinches it.

Mostly would love to rest guys against philly, so yes beat the Rangers. Got to think that the Rangers will be more concerned with staying healthy than winning. Look at the injuries in the Boston game. I think that we win and can be careful our last game.

That's regular season luck not playoff luck. The more I see the overconfidence that these Flyer fans have and all these others who believe this is going to be a long series the more I believe the Pens probably win in 5 games or even sweep them for no other reason than I just see this joke goaltending of Philadelphia just collapsing with Sidney Crosby running wild.

Win against Rangers, clinch no.4, on Saturday, scratch Sid, Geno, Nealer, Staal, Letang ... play Park, Jeffrey, Tangradi, Johnnie and re-call Despres, BigMac for the last game against Flyers, when there's nothing to play for and they will go after our players.

You mad Flyers ? :trolololo:

The thing is it is not just the knuckleheads on HF being overconfident. The players themselves are saying what a joke we are to play against in Pittsburgh. Did you see Hartnell's comments?

I see us winning this series in five, not about the overconfidence, but oddly enough because of how we are playing. They hit a bump in the road, but one that can and will be corrected I am confident. And we are healthier than we have been in years. Add to it that the team will not be reading its own headlines given this bump in the road and I love our chances. Philly did us a favor with their idiocy at the end of the game. They were in our heads, they could have just ended the game and left the message on the scoreboard. But they just had to do what they always do, try and put a Philly style exclaimation point on the message. Cross check our star while up by three with three and a half left, put a scoring line out with a minute left to add another goal. Bylsma could not have asked for a better gift. The Pens will come out focused and angry come that first game, and healthy unlike Philly. Crosby owns them. What is not to like?

Jaded-Fan, I really wouldn't call Rinaldo, Briere & Schenn a scoring line. Briere is only good in the playoffs and maybe not even now. Schenn, just a rookie with maybe 10 goals. And if Rinaldo has more than 5 goals I would be stunned.

The Rangers have nothing really to play for, my guess is that Lundqvist gets a rest Thursday and then plays vs. the Caps so as not to get too rusty. But I don't think home ice is that meaningful to either team. Flyers are better on the road and not so good at home. And the Consol has been far too nice to them. However, without those ribs....
