If we win Saturdays game is meaningless. What then? Rest everyone?
Well, technically, if we win and Philly loses in regulation and NJD beats Detroit, we could technically be playing to not be playing Philly in the first round.
Hoping we see Biron since this game is meaningless for the Rangers. Also hoping the Pens don't take them lightly despite that, and that Geno hits 50 goals, or at least gets one goal so he has to chance to hit 50 vs Philly.
Think that covers it.

Just want Malkin to hit 50 tomorrow and Cooke get #20
Lets go Pens !
50 goals for Geno, 50 wins for the team and 20 goals for Cookie ... Sounds good
On the Ranger's board they are saying that Torts said that they will not be resting players. They do have something to play for, president's trophy. That said, if smart they would keep their eye on what is meaningful, and only need to look to the injuries in the Boston-Pittsburgh game. Especially the Boychuk injury looked especially bad, in a game that meant nothing.
If we do clinch fourth tomorrow, I certainly would be in favor of keeping Malkin, Crosby, Letang and Fleury completely off the ice against the Flyers.
As an aside, the Flyers' fans are openly calling to tank, and calling it just that. To get the 6th seed. That amuses me on so many levels. First the fear of playing us, but more the irony of so many of them calling for any form of tanking.
I just want to see that there is a real focus on playing cohesive, structured hockey.
Ie. defenders who are not flipping the bird to the idea of being positionally responsible and the need to clear opponents away from Fleury's grill. Forwards not forgetting that odd-man rushes against are to be avoided (hence one shouldn't turn over the puck between the blue lines, less so when the entire team is moving forward, and they should feel compelled to back track, and not least provide coverage when a defender pinches or joins the rush). Etc.
If we play solid defense, everything else takes care of itself with the weapons we have on offense.

after all this talk about that series it would be hilarious to knock them down to the 6th seed.

Yes and also Philly will est their players as well so there won't be much of a point for both teams. I doubt they will be any motivation needed for either team

I don't think so. Unfortunately, we've followed up our best hockey of the season with probably our worst defensive efforts. If we were still in cruise control, I'd say rest em if we can but we need to take every opportunity we can to right this ship before the playoffs. If we don't, I'm really not looking forward to a series with Philly.
