Right now, MTL looks better than I expected them to. The team holds possession and moves well as a team. The problem is the problem you could see a mile away, nobody on the team can finish. This leads to the team constantly playing on the edge of a loss, and with this the "expansion breaks" (PK's/red card)kill your chances to win. Where with maybe an experienced, still in his prime, talented striker, you get a point in Cbus and maybe 3 vs the Fire....

Agreed. We could have easily won one or two but it's a work in a progress and at least they are in every game so it's fun to watch.
It wasn't a result in the play. Arnaud lost the ball already so the hit was a non factor. Penalties are usually awarded when the player has the ball or directly affects the outcome of the play.
Thank you very much, man! I really enjoy watching the games, but I don't know much about the game so I try to learn as much as possible by reading things online and by listening to what the analysts have to say. I understand the game more and more therefore I like it more and more.

Oh I wasn't a huge soccer fan either but playing lots of FIFA and learning how to build plays is fun to watch now. I really enjoy it more and more every game I watch.
Bernier will definatly play, but I have NO IDEA how Marsch will explain this decision to Warner once he announces it to him.
I think Shavar Thomas looked way better as a CB than Tyson Wahl who clearly seems more comfortable as a LB.
On the right side, Jeb didn't have a great game, nor a bad one either. I think Zarek is the #1 and hes going to slowly integrate that position. Hes going to start having the fresher legs this weekend and most likely 3 games out of 4 until the rest of the season.
The striker really F's me over.. Corradi doesn't seem to be in game form yet, and Braun can't stretch the back line enough. You look at a guy like Espinolda for RSL today, Thats the kind of player we need out front. Someone that will push the Back 4, stretch it apart, open holes for himself, take the oppertunities, but also open some for his teamates.
The problem isn't the striker... It's that nobody is capable of doing the last pass, the killer pass/cross to the front for the goal.
People said Justin Braun wasn't good yesterday. While it's true that he didn't stand out, he didn't have ANYTHING to stand out. It is useless to have Marco Di Vaio upfront if there's nobody to make him a pass on the wing or from the midfield. The strikers can't dribble down 5 d's to go score every game... Only Messi can do it.
The only guy that I saw dribble some opponent was Justin Mapp, and that's because of him that we had our only chance in the game in the second half. Notice on this play who was demarked and ready to accept his pass if the RSL keeper had not made a great defending play ? Justin Braun.
Arnaud, Neagle, Felipe, all they could do right yesterday was to pass back the ball to the d's. Not a single cross from the wingers/fb's was a challenge for Salt Lake. Sure it's one thing to control the ball evenly to the opposition. It's one another to have scoring opportunities. The Impact didn't yesterday.

Also if you bump a guy from the side it has a better chance of not being called. There is even a legal tackle called a "shoulder charge". The second you get a guy from behind, the chances of it being called skyrockets. That's why we conceded a penalty the game before in the box. Despite the fact that Ferrari got mostly ball, he still took out the player from behind. It was tackle he should not have attempted.

You're completely right. We need a player that can dribble and pass the ball to the strikers. Nyassi and Mapp are good on the flanks. Felipe and Bernier/Warner are fine in the midfield but we still need better, thier passes are not accurate enough. As for the central forward position, I'm 100% convinced that Arnaud shouldn't be a starter on this team, I'm sorry but I haven't seen anything special from him, he can't dribble, his vision is limited and he often slows down the play. This position is key to create chances and Arnaud is not capable of doing that. He's not fast enough to play on the flank either, so really we need somebody to replace him. Yesterday I liked what I saw from Wenger in the 10 minutes he played, he seems to read the play very well. I'd like him to get a start as central forward, he could be the key to our success.

This is very true. Braun is not very good, but neither is Corradi or anyone they've put in the right striker spot. We've had very poor service all year long into the box. At the end of the day, we simply don't have a very good team. I mean i get as excited as the next guy when we string a few good passes together in opposing team's half, but it's also been very frustrating to see the numbers of breakouts they've screwed up. They've actually done a nice job of putting pressure on the opposing D and creating turnovers, but have done little if anything at all with them.
The bottom line is that Marsch has constructed a workman-like squad with very little polish. Exactly what you'd expect from a expansion club.
Yikrd, I hope not. Mutu is talented but he has a dark past. He's been banned twice for doping. I'm not sure what kind of message Saputo would give to the fans if he signs a guy like him. Even on the pitch he's regressed a lot in the past 2 years. Having a DP is nice but not Mutu please.

Sucks.
I was gonna say everyone deserves a second chance but then I saw he was banned twice.

Exactly.. Player that takes Dope... The Saputo's
Joke Aside.. If hes that high risk, why pay the 1,5Million transfer fee while they can get a player whos contract is comming to term and save that extra money? I mean, Jpense pas que 1,5M will make the Saputo Family go Bankrupt, but still
EDIT: WTF @ The Adverisements on that site, Is it somesort of Soccer-Sexual website? LMAO
For those wishing to see what is happening at Saputo Stadium, here is a webcam link. It's not the best angle but its better than nothing! The stadium is in the background on the right.

If Mutu is the only improvement in the off-season, Impact better be ready to pick 1st overall again.
I'm afraid that Mutu makes sense. I used to find it hard to believe we had a shot at Di Vaio given that he's still one of the best strikers in Serie A.
Anyway, I might after all be able to go to the game on saturday, which website was offering 2 tickets for 1? If I go to the tickets office on matchday would I get 2 for 1?

Ticketmaster but IIRC, the offer ended on March 30th.
