Am I the only one that gets frustrated when RDS or TVA Sports talk about people being sad no french-speaking player will be starting today? "Montreal fans will be unhappy to see Bernier on the bench, because there won't be any french-speaking player on the pitch." Who cares? We want a ****ing win god damnit.
I dont think these players would want to play in MLS. They'd probably spend the rest of their careers at lower table teams in the EPL or in 2nd tier leagues such as Ligue 1.
true with most of them, I gave a couple of examples to show which kind of player I was reffering to. But one thing is for sure ... some will prefer to keep playing top minutes as they age (henry, frings), and some will relish the idea of becoming the king of montreal in their early 20s instead of having trouble getting the janitors' job at Wes Brom.

hahah I agree about Bentner (glad when the gunners let him go!)... but on a technical point of view, he's the type of striker that could top the MLS in goals imo. Not world class in anything but finishing, but he is strong in the air and would be a real threat even in the most quiet of games. I don't like the guy either, but I like the mold. Saha knows he won't stay there forever and I think he will head to france ... but we have to try ... never know.
Belgium has been pretty good lately with their youth programs (both clubs and on int level) ... a lot of great players heading to switzerland or Holland ... most of these young players speak french so the cultural shock wouldn't be terrible. Its a country where development has improved imensely ... and is still underated. If I had a blank check, this is exactly where I'd start to look when june comes around.
She's been doing all soccer games at RDS since World Cup 94
lol shows how much I watch soccer on RDS, she's horrible

Lol I was happy when they let him go too. Unfortunate that it was only a loan deal. I do agree though that a player like him would do well in the MLS though.
Just a heads up guys that a big game is going on in Montreal right now. A lot of soccer fans from both side are at the stadium. Should be exciting. Come to the sticky thread above to join the action.
