Victoria and Vancouver to Host the 2012 Subway Series

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League in association with SUBWAY® restaurant chain and the Western Hockey League today announced that the WHL’s Victoria Royals and the Vancouver Giants will host the final two games of the 2012 SUBWAY® Super Series.

Victoria’s Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre, which hosted the event in 2009, will play host to Game 5 of the series on Wednesday November 14, 2012. Game 6 of the series will be played Thursday November 15, 2012, at Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum which will host the event for the first time.

Was hoping the Top Prospects Game would come back but this should be a great game. Last one of the series, hopefully there's some bad blood. Looking forward to it!

Nice, too bad the league never bothered giving Chilliwack opportunities like this, even when in the first few years, they were close to selling out the building most nights in 2006 to 2008.

I'm totally fine with Victoria having a franchise. I'm not fine, and still not fine about how the relocation was approved and Chilliwack lost their team when there was an offer to keep the team in town.

Just how the City and fanbase was treated like dirt really hurt. I didn't have season tickets the last Bruins season, but I went to about 30 games over the course of the season, and really got attached to the team. Attendance was up last year to about 3400 fans per game, and yeah..it just hurt when we were nowhere near the worst supported team in the WHL.

Who knows, maybe Prince Albert or Prince George relocates to Chiliwack.
