Bobby Orr - He was god in these parts.
Johnny 'Pie' McKenzie and Derek Sanderson were a couple more I liked.
Yvan Cournoyer - Heresey from these parts to like a Canadien but I loved the way this guy would streak down the wing.
My first ever sports hero was the Red Sox Tony Conigliaro.

My team: Roy, Naslund, Robinson, Chelios, McPhee, Nilan
Other teams: Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman, Coffey, Kerr, Stastny bros, Hextall, Lindberg (he and Roy are the reasons I started playing goalie)
Adolescence list get crazy long, as my hockey world/knowledge expanded incredibly during the fantastic late 80s and early/mid 90s (a.k.a. "the Upper Deck years"). Roenick, Sakic, Lindros, Jagr, Fedorov, Hasek, Bure, etc, etc.

His Gold Card from 95 was my first official hockey card.

On the Bruins, Raymond Bourque was THE man as far as I was concerned. Around the NHL, I'd have to say I was always amazed by the 1980's Edmonton Oilers. Mark Messier (in my opinion) is the best player I've ever seen. Strength and skill. Just like Bourque. Hands-down they were my faves for a long time.
