All you Jays fans are in for a rude awakening. Spring training means nothing. Go sit back down at the kids table and let the big boys fight over the division. New York Yankees professional baseball begins Friday and I can't wait.

In all seriousness i think it would be great to see the Jays back in the playoffs and hope they make it as a wild card. But with NYY, Tampa, Texas, LAA, Detroit and even those filthy Red Sox it's going to be tough.

with the extra wild card, it is not a stretch to see the Jays contend for a playoff spot.
Gunna have to bank on Romero staying sharp, and Morrow/Alvarez taking leaps in their development, and Drabek/others not being terrible. Would have liked to see another 2/3 starer added to the rotation, but aside from Darvish, I'm not comfortable with the amount it would have cost to get any of the other arms that went this offseason.
Except for Pineda. Stupid mariners helping the stupid yankees.
Pineda looked terrible in the Spring and Montero will be a beast. Not sure the Yanks got any favours there.
Go Jays! Will likely have to finish 2nd to have a shot, but that is possible... Just not likely this year. Still a year away but should be an exciting year!
Pineda/Montero trade made no sense at the time and I still don't understand it. You take a guy like Pineda who has a huge fly ball rate and put him in Yankee stadium and there's a good chance he's going to blow up. Then you take a A+ prospect like Montero who projects to have massive power and put him Safeco. Weird.
Jays will be an exciting club to watch this season, but they won't be in the race in September unless Morrow's results start to match his peripheral numbers and he puts up a sub 3.50 era. All about learning to pitch out of the stretch for that guy.
2013 would be the season I'd see the Jays making more of a push, but they're still going to be a ton of fun to watch.
Looking forward to catching a few games at Safeco again this year. I'm really looking forward to the Whitecaps/Sounders & Mariners double-header in August. Good times.
Any sport is boring if you don't really know what's going on.
I used to feel this way about baseball, soccer and NFL but now I'm obsessed.
That being said, I understand with a 162 game schedule, it's hard to get excited about every game.
I like baseball because you can throw it on in the background, do something else come back when something happens. aka chill out in the beer garden.
Ya exactly. The more you get into the sport the more interesting it is. If you don't know the intracacies of the game, it'll bore you. If you know who's up, who's pitching and what the situation is, you'll be interested.
ah, its that time of year and the feeling in the air. its spring again and the talk begins of what is going to happen when MLB's regular season starts.
Yes, the excitement is here and I am so giddy. With baseball finally back its the sure sign that the NHL Playoffs are about to get underway!
