Now the question is, how low can we go in the draft?

Partly, but I just love the draft in general. Being a GM would be an absolute dream for me, and I guess I feel like I really get to play the part then.

This team is mentally weak, and gave up time and time again when things didn't go their way. Face a hot goalie? Get frustrated and take a bunch of penalties, lose the game. Mistakes lead to a quick goal for the opposition? Give up and coast the rest of the game. Go down by 2 goals? **** it, mail it in.

This team doesn't not deserve the playoffs, teams like LA, FLA, and others with high "loser" points do. Why? Because they had the defense to not get blown out of the water every night. Because they didn't repeatedly get lit up and give up. Or because they had the leadership and resolve to battle back when things got down. Outside of the LA game at home, how many games did our Stars show that fight?

Blame the team for not having enough points, not the system.
Nah, I'll just blame the system..

That feeling was present for me last game. This game not so much. This game was more like when you try to get back with said girlfriend and she makes out with you then leaves you with blue balls.

Hey guys, Avs fan coming in peace. Just wanna congratulate you guys on the great run. Looks like we're both gonna fall short but honestly who would of thought either of us would be fighting for a playoff spot this late in the season? Hopefully next year we both make it to the playoffs

Wasnt meant to be sincere nor negative. I was just simply saying better luck next year. Implying that the Stars need to refocus, rebuild and come back stronger next year. Thats the 2nd time in in so many years they've done this.

agreed. Not only mentally weak, however, but weak in general. There are third and fourth line guys who worked their guts out but don't have the talent to contribute in any meaningful way. When a couple of guys on your top two lines and one of the top D men is sitting in the penalty box for lazy, stupid penalties every time you turn around, what can you do?

Spoken like a fan of a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 4 years.

My first thought during the last dying minutes of this game were how I can't wait to see the veterans get turned over. Souray and Robidas sitting and watching the puck while getting scored on is just the perfect way for this team to lose. Screw Morrow, Robidas, Souray, and Ott. Screw gulutzan for deciding to wait until after it's too late to make some very crucial changes to the powerplay. Above all, screw this team for coming up short when it mattered once again. Maybe they aren't talented, maybe they're absolutely exhausted, I don't care. I'm done with the excuses, this is the off season where we get to see what Joe is made of. This is going to make or break his career as a GM. No off-season has been more important to our build up out of mediocrity than this one. I'm excited and apprehensive all at once.

True. I know it's a bad time, but hell, we could go to the Stanley Cup Finals and the draft would still probably be my favorite time of the year.

Winning it all, though... That's different.

Yea, I'd rather just be out of the Pacific all together. Mainly because we're no where near the Pacific Ocean..

anyway, everyone should pack it in for the night and not be too upset. The boys are likely setting up tee times for next week, not even thinking about the futility of it all.

Don't think anyone should be that upset. If you're upset after this one, I would not of wanted to be around you after the SJ game.

Season ended, truthfully, in Calgary.
