I don't follow the AHL. That looks terrible but I have no idea.

If you want to insist on harping on Holtby, his save percentage at the NHL level is significantly higher than Neuvirth's playing behind the same defense this year. It's a small sample size, but it was also true last season over more games.

Dany Sabourin and Tendler (on a tryout contract). Between injuries and azzhat Hunter raiding the pantry, Hershey is screwed for the playoffs. Looks my playoff tickets just became a deposit on next year's season tix. At least BB pretended to care about the farm club, Hunter hasn't even crossed our doorstep.

I hate living in an AHL city sometimes.

Vokoun is ranked 23rd in the NHL stats. Hardly Patrick Roy-esque but Neuvirth is ranked 37th.

Can we stop treating Neuvirth like some kid on the playground getting picked on for no reason? He's had a crappy year, why keep pretending he didn't?

Regardless it looks like Holtby is it for now. He doesn't even have enough NHL starts to be ranked. It's obvious though based on his Bears #s that Vokoun would be the obvious choice if he was healthy.
neuvirth gets backup minutes and plays like a backup. id bet his numbers playing at least three games in a row are on par with vokoun's.

Me too. Not because we can't beat Boston but because it is always more fun to watch NY fans cry.

Nice to see Laich and Semin step up considering the heat each gets.

Now let's win the division.

Hershey had big problems on D earlier in the year (Orlov callup, and shallow D pool). We mostly fixed our D problem so Holtby played better. He is very aggressive and when he feels the D is hanging him out to dry he becomes stupidly aggressive. Very entertaining to watch and with some more experience/ maturity I am sure he will be a solid NHL goaltender.

I feel you brother. It would be a lot more rewarding beating ny. HF would go haywire.

Plus I think they can do it.

To read this thread backwards is funny. Anyway........thankee Caps. I couldn't watch and decided to continue celebrating my b-day instead. Cool news at the end of the day. Now on to the division title.

Seriously..........the Panthers are happy they are in I bet because facing Carolina with the Caps and Sabres on their heels would have been excruciating to them. Now it's just the Caps. Have fun on Saturday boys and whatever happens, happens.

Shout out to the Sabres.........not long ago nobody had them in playoff conversation. They hopefully pushed the Caps into a playoff atmosphere in which the Caps gained confidence that they actually can perservere. Hopefully the result is confidence gained as a team.

I don't wish to harp on any of the goalies that played for the Caps this year. All three have not been spectacular, and neither has the defense that has played in front of them. Just tired of the Neuvy bashing.

Hunter will come around. Slow at times but came around with Knuble, then Hamrlik and now Semin. There's a lot of hope here.

Werent you the clown that said signing vokoun ruined nuevy? He gets bashed because of the three crap tenders people are only stupid enough to defend him.

Congrats Caps fans.

After watching this team for three decades I was more than a little nervous that we wouldn't make it in, but this team is pretty darn feisty.

Hopefully we make an unexpected run.

Go Caps!
