brett hull was purely catch and shoot. without somebody feeding him the puck, he didnt create offense. should he have been paid as a complimentary player?

There is one player on the caps that can shoot like semin. 8. backstrom...a primary player can't finish like 28 and you know it. backstrom without a finisher doesnt create much more than second line numbers. is he a complimentary player too?

That's what we call a win/win/win.

I still can't get over the Backstrom/Semin thing. It's almost as shocking as when Liberation(I think?) claimed that Laich played 2C in 09-10 but shifted out for faceoffs.

If only my friend.

I think if caps get the first one we'll win.

Semin definitely played with Backstrom...

21/14 (I think?) - 19 - 28

Neuvirth played in 9 playoff games last year and looks to be the more steady of the two at this point. But in now way has he been anything other than mediocre this year.

But yeah...wish we had Vokoun ready.
I am a little burned out on Neuvy. Something just isn't right. I know the best thing to do is ride the closest thing to your number 1 this late, and especially after Holtby's last game. But I have a hunch that Holtby like last season, shaky in his early callup, really turned it on strong to finish ~9-2. Make a facepalm mistake, and then stop messing around.

We will see if Neuvy was the right call soon enough. Fingers crossed, he ends the ongoing search for consistency in net. All teams need the G to steal one but his seem far and few between. How many has he stole this year... monty most recently. We need some thefts, our team in disarray!

Yes. Almost only in the playoffs. They never even close to played "at least a season" together. It's just not true.

Chimera has played above and beyond his potential this season. Okay, I'll put my box of nit pickings and split hairs away now.

No. If we get the first one, we're fine. If we get the first two, then we're screwed.

Chimera, Brouwer and Orlov are members of a very exclusive club this year.

Right on.

My sentiments exactly (outside of the fact that I wouldn't be going to the games that is)

This is the attitude everyone should have. There are positives to both outcomes.

Checking the Panthers board and they are reporting Shawn Mathias is a scratch for tonight. That's good news, that guy has some wheels/jets and the last few games he's played against the Caps he seems to just skate right through or pass our defenders.

On a side note, I had forgotten that the last time the Panters had played Carolina, Bergenheim had mocked the Hurricanes with some golf swings, suggesting that they would be golfing soon. Panthers last regular season game is against the Canes. What do they say about Karma

Ovechkin's production number is 23:59 while Semin's is 24:10. Semin is 3/6 in SO's while Ovechkin is 3/8. How that makes Semin the worst under performing forward on the team while being counted on heavily and Ovechkin is simply part of the unnamed not exonerated I will never know...

Agree and I'll have expand that by at least one more, Karl Alzner with honorable mentions going to Perreault and Beagle.

I am pushing all in no one hits Flash tonight.

If we make the playoffs it should be interesting to see the bra snapper defensemen BSDs forced into actually hitting and clearing the crease.

My concern, tho, is that they make the POs, are predictably soft and lose, and it stands as an excuse to give GMGM/DH yet another year.

Don't get me wrong, I want them to get in, but I see a negative long-term outcome if they do. (If they win the Cup, of course, nothing else matters.)

George is here next year no matter what. Ted has been sold that Nick and Green being out was the problem. Book it. Nothing to worry about tonight. The campaign needs to begin when the season ends.

Lets see if we make the playoffs first and then worry about these issues!
