I think so. Somebody on BP said they did.

From what I heard in the past they have to decide before the draft starts. It's unfare to us if we don't know if we have it or not while the draft is going on in case we want to move up.

Yeah I think it was something like by the start of the draft or the start of the round that the pick resides in to decide, that way you can't **** the team by giving them the pick at the last minute if they're trying to flip it, etc.

Florida has until the start of the second round. Personally I wouldn't be upset if they kept the pick. Next years draft is thought to be stronger and I wouldn't be surprised if Florida fell back to earth.

Nice. I like Lindholm and wouldn't mind them going after him. He was considered one of the top defensemen at the U-18s, had the longest time on the VO2 max test at the combine and sounds like a great kid

Al Murray either really doesn't care about smoke screens or he's trying to get a team to take Lindholm before 19. Why would he drop a name like that?

Lindholm is who i would love at 19. I want trouba at 10 and lindholm at 19. That would be my dream draft

I wonder if he said other names as well and this was the only one that got quoted. It does seem a little weird. Im guessing that we are getting a little bit of an out of context version but maybe he is just being honest

We need Reilly at 10, best offensive threat which we lack, and ready in 2 years not 4 like Trouba. We have Aullie and Gudas for shut down D.

I just think troubas lack of offense has been greatly exaggerated, all i have seen of him is at WJC but from what i did see, he can move the puck. Has excellent speed, and has a rocket shot. So in my opinion i think the offense will come. But i would not be upset with Reilly either haha

It's doubtful that a team would change their draft priority this late strictly based off what Murray says. I'd imagine teams have been spending multiple years scouting players and adjusting their rankings so I'm sure most teams are basically ready to go.

Unless some team wanted to do it out of spite

here's the quote on Lindholm:
Quote:
And though it is believed the Lightning would covet an offensive-minded defenseman with a right-hand shot, such as Cody Ceci from Ottawa of the Ontario league or Mathew Dumba from Red Deer of the Western junior league, Murray seemed to add a wild card: 6-foot-2, 196-pound Swedish junior Hampus Lindholm, the top-ranked European blue-liner.

"We know we're going to get somebody good at (No.) 10, and we think somebody else is going to fall at 19, and Lindholm could be one of those players," Murray said. "He's a tall kid. He's a very good skater. He's a good puck-handler, and he plays well defensively."

Put it all together and "it's probably going to be one of the most unpredictable drafts that I've been involved with," Murray said. "I think this draft is going to be a lot of fun because it's going to be all over the place. It comes down to a lot of individual team philosophies on what they view as most important."

In other words, it's in the eye of the beholder.
Looks like he could just be giving an example of this drafts unpredictability in a player who could go high at 10 with top picks Dumba or low into the 20s. But he did single Lindholm out so he could be on their mind. I would assume our last scout meeting of what we were planning to do tomorrow was done tonight.

Trouba, a product of the U.S. National Development program who is committed to the University of Michigan, is on the Lightning's radar after meeting with Tampa Bay officials at the draft combine last month and again Thursday afternoon

But it's not a stretch to say more than a dozen players are on the Lightning's radar.
Quote:
With the lack of a true blue-chip defensive prospect, it makes sense to think general manager Steve Yzerman and director of scouting Al Murray will dip into that perceived deeper talent pool and try to fill an organizational hole.

"If there was a tie, we might go that way (with a defenseman), but we don't have any ties right now,'' Murray said. "We have our list in a certain order and whichever player comes up when it's time for us to pick at 10 and 19, we'll be pretty happy.''

Makes me think he was the guy on the twitter account saying we selected Nesterov in the second round instead of Kucherov.

Joke on my part but last year the twitter account for the team tweeted that Nesterov was taken with the pick in the second round but it was a mistake and they had taken Kucherov. Three rounds later they still took Nesterov.

Keith Yandle reportedly being shopped by Coyote's. Just what we need, true #1, young (25), and relatively cheap (5.25).

I'd hope he bites on Grigorenko if he moves the 19th for immediate help on defense.
