I think I figured TB out. They teach Russian players who don't know any English the phrase 'Only play for Tampa', which means 'Hello' and 'Yes'.

Thats just a talent list, not "whos-picking-who" guys. Nobody believes we're taking Subban with the 10th. Is he the 10th best player in the draft? Probably.

Now that the 2nd round of the playoffs is over, our final draft order is:

1st Rd. #10
1st Rd. #19 (Detroit/Downie trade)
2nd Rd. #37 (Minnesota via San Jose/Moore trade)
2nd Rd. #40
2nd Rd. #50 (Philadelphia/Gagne trade)
2nd Rd. #53 (Florida 2012 or 2013 via Philadelphia/Kubina trade)
3rd Rd. #71
4th Rd. #101
5th Rd. #131
6th Rd. #161
7th Rd. #191 (to San Jose/Moore trade)

2 others things:

Since New Jersey made it to at least the ECF, they might want to make this the year they forfeit their 1st round pick as punishment from the Kovalchuk contract violation.

We also have an extra 4th Rd. pick in next year's draft from Philly as part of the Kubina trade.

Any chance that Yzerman uses some of the 2nd Round Picks to move up in the draft? Maybe he uses the 40th and the 50th to move up from 19th and take one of Ceci, Finn, Maatta, etc.?

If Maata isn't on the board for the 19th, flip it for a 2013 pick. That draft year is going to be absolutely stacked.

I can see SY using the 40th or 50th to make sure we get Reilly early and I'm sure one of the other 3 will be there at 19.

They were saying that about this years draft up until about Christmas. I don't think anyone really knows how good a draft will be until 5 years later.

This draft has always been said to have great high-end talent, but being thin depth-wise. Next years top-15 have players who have already proven a lot for their age, all these guys look like blue-chippers:

MacKinnon
Barkov
Jones
Shinkaruk
Monahan
Drouin
Lazar
Fucale
Forsberg
Duclair
Pulock
Comrie
Klimchuk
Roy
Domi
Lindholm

Anyone thinking we raid Russia again, with out later round picks I mean as other than Vasilevski I don't see anyone who will either be left on the board in the first who would merit a pick and even then i'd prefer to wait till the 2nd to draft a goalie.

Like Gusev, Arzamastsev, Slepyshev, Prokhorkin etc?

Would be great to get Gusev IMO, and maybe getting him and Kucherov over together would be easier?

This x100000, those two have fantastic chemistry, and maybe Vladdy can talk to them about playing in North America. Imagine those three playing on Norfolk

i told you a few months ago, get Gusev early so we don't lose him.
He's like Datsyuk but playing LW, real magician with the puck!

As we've seen elsewhere, chemistry in Europe rarely translates to great success in North America.

I think most of our picks will be spent on Alaskans and players on the Islanders waiver wire

Silly, we dont need picks for waiver wire transactions.

I think the 10 pick gets us Reinhart, and I think both goaltenders slip out of the first round. One is coming off injury, the other is russian, so... yeah.

He was joking about the waiver wire, since we've picked up a few islanders lately. I hope we get Reilly at 10, we need more of an impact player than Reinhart. Maybe we can move a 2nd or 2 to move up in the 1st and get both. As long as we don't take a goalie in the 1st I'm good with getting one in any other round.

I'm beginning to think I'm the only person who wants Ceci. At 19 I'd like Finn or Maatta. If they're not there trade it for a first in 2013 and a late rounder this year or trade down in the first and pick up another defender or one of the premiere goalies.

Ceci over Reilly? Or Ceci if Reilly isn't there? I like Ceci over Reinhart slightly. I wouldn't mind either of those two at 19 or Bystrom.

I prefer Ceci over Reilly. From what I've read(granted I haven't read everything but I would like to think it has been a good amount) Ceci has been pegged as a top-4 2-way defender. His offense has already shown itself and his defense as there and should get better.

I would like to have Reilly or Reinhart with the 10th overall pick... getting Maata later would be awesome too

I think it's pretty likely the BPA for our #10 will be a dman.

If either of Trouba or Reilly are available, I'd hope for one of them (no preference between the 2).

If the previously mentioned 2 aren't available, I'd like Reinhart, Ceci, or Maata (also no preference).
