This game was originally slotted to be on NBC Sports Network, they dropped the game and FSNO picked it back up, but due to scheduling problems they couldnt do Pre or Post game.
Thinking of Brassard... Can anybody be any more inconsistent?
He had 10 points in 10 games, then went 6 games pointless, and now he's got 8 points in the last 8 games...
This pretty much describes every player. How many not named Crosby actually score in every game. Guys go through droughs and hot streaks. Seems normal to me. Even when not scoring brass has still looked good out there, IMO.
hey blues fan here, i just wanted to say sam actkinson has been your most exciting player to watch, against the blues at least, you guys should be excited for the future

Thanks, we are excited to see how Sam Actkinson develops. Good luck in the playoffs
He's generated 63 shots on goal in his first 26 NHL games-an average of 2.42 per game. His shots on goal per game average ranks 3rd on the Jackets behind Nash (3.74) and Umgarbage (2.59).
Compare Atkinson-a throwaway 6th round pick (157th overall)-to this year's #4 overall pick R. Johansen. Johansen has a........well I'll be nice.........paltry 4 assists in his last 24 games. His progression is in freefall. He also generates a very pedestrian 1.50 shots on goal per game.
Let Howson draft the 6th rounders all by himself if the organization is idiotic enough to let him stay. Leave the first two rounds to the adult (Mr. Patrick). Atkinson is definitely a case of "blind squirrel finds acorn" if Howson had much input in the choice process.

To be fair to Johansen, he is only 19, Cam is what, 22 or so? That being said, as of now Cam looks like he could be the real deal. Maybe the scouts & GM finally found a later round sleeper.

Obligatory "haha yeah usually it's the GM and scouts who do the sleeping in the later round yukyukyuk"

The Avs announcer kept calling CBJ #17 "Letetsu"

Didn't Calvert have a hat trick in his rookie season with us?
So did Filatov.

Good post. Comparing a college grad to a Junior Hockey player one year removed is not apples to apples. Atkinson looks very good, and has for sometime. Its nice to see him get some bounces after weeks of hard work on the ice.

Typical. "Something good happened? Credit Craig Patrick! Something bad happened? Blame Scott Howson!"
Do you REALLY want to see Patrick's first- and second-round drafting with Pittsburgh? If you think Columbus can't draft in the second round, check out Pittsburgh's record over a 17-year span.

Paul Laus, Rusty Fitzgerald, Marc Hussey, Dominic Pittis, Richard Park, Pavel Skrbek, Brian Gaffaney, Alexander Zevakhin, Matt Murley, Shane Endicott, Noah Welch, Ondrej Nemec, Ryan Stone, Johannes Salmonsson, Michael Gergen, Carl Sneep.
Richard Park and Paul Laus are the only players to hit 100 NHL games in their careers. Not 1,000. 100.

I just checked some players game logs. Even guys like Parenteau and Moulson haven't had 6 games pointless streak all year long. David Desharnais, another french Canadian center form the struggling team, didn't have a point only in 4 games in a row at most. This season was considered as "make it or brake it" for Brassard, we need him to be consistent points producer, but he still was consistent in his inconsistency. I still like him, he's a very talented player, but he has to be better for this team to succeed.
