Shopping our 1st for a young defenseman or prospect. Other assets available as well.
Note we are not specifically looking to move anyone off of the roster (we'll only consider Foligno, Regin, and Gonchar as tradeable assets). All 2012 picks, and select prospects (Lehner, Puempel, Da Costa, Filatov) are available.
Everyone is available except Kessel and Gardiner. Phaneuf could only be moved in a very substantial deal, but highly unlikely he goes anywhere. Our trade block is below.
We're rebuilding the right way this time around, but that doesn't mean young players are off limits. This past season has shown us that changes are needed. We're interested in draft picks, young players, and some veterans too (but don't expect us to move tons of youth for aging vets). In terms of established players, we're looking at a #1 goaltender and a #1 centre, but not selling half my team to get them.
TRADE BLOCK :
- Colby Armstrong
- Matthew Lombardi
- Tim Connolly
- Cody Franson
-Our primary need is a top 4 or top 2 defenseman. Grabner, Niederreiter, and other prospects/picks are very available. We will consider moving others but only if the defenseman really fits our needs.
-Also shopping for a number 2 center, but we won't overpay as we will also feel comfortable giving that spot to Ryan Strome.
-We are not planning on trading Parenteau's rights.
ACTIVELY SEARCHING FOR Top 4 Defenseman
Defensemen Prospects with Offensive Upside
Moveable Pieces in the Right Deal
Cal Clutterbuck, W
Devin Setoguchi, W
Niklas Backstrom, G
Matt Cullen, C
Matt Hackett. G
2012 First Round Pick *Certain Prospects Negotiable
I've already had a ton of interest in Cal Clutterbuck. There's a good chance he goes and I've nearly got a deal completed that would send him to an Eastern Conference team. Not considering pieces for him. I'll need quality assets and preferably I'd like to be the one adding to him to get a quality asset.
Willing to deal most any prospect if there's a scenario that helps my NHL team.

Frolik has no role here in Chicago ,, Blue Jackets will be good home for him
As for the picks ,, Meh
Hawks have the depth to lose a 3rd and 5th
At 24 years of age, Frolik's a good reclamation project. He'll play wing in the Top-6 where he's better suited, not quite sure with who yet, but he'll get ample ice time and opportunity that he wasn't getting on a crowded Chicago team. Not a fan of the depth in the prospect pool, so gaining some picks is useful.
Rick Nash has two major suitors right now. There's not set asking price, but there has to be quality assets in prospect, ELC roster players, or long-term signed players.
Interest in Hjalmarsson continues to pick up along with Stalberg
G Alexander Salak = Cheap affordable , Talented prospect with upside is also on block as I plan to bring in a goalie via trade to be #1 or at least 1A (With Crawford as 1b) so wont have use for him (Also planning to sign some of my JR goalies for AHL)

The Colorado Avalanche may be interested in moving youngster Matt Duchene. Avs have made it clear that they are looking to improve their defense and would be looking for a player capable of being paired with Erik Johnson (left handed top pairing potential D) for the near future.
