you mean Reimer has not lived up to expectations in his whole 34 games this season??

71 games
34 wins
24 Losses
9 OT

2.83 GAA
9.11 PCT

you know that is not bad, I wonder what his numbers would be like if he had a better defence in front of him.....you Leaf fans are the same as Hab fans...no patience. Fix the defense and he will be fine.

What about something like Gardiner + Kadri + Franson + 2nd?

Horrible trade for both teams

Even New York would take a good hard look. Carey Price is probably one of maybe 2 or 3 goalies in the NHL that is deserving of the FRANCHISE tag.

If this guy says he doesn't want to re-sign with Montreal, then there is a serious, serious demand for his services.

What would it cost? With Gainey/Gauthier out of the picture, Montreal has a serious shot at extracting the proper return.

The equivalent in picks is four 1st rounders. That's just a baseline. You're talking about a massive bidding war and the price would be driven up.

We've seen a good example at the deadline with Rick Nash, except I think Price would command more interest (no banana-rama contract, younger, more deserving of being a franchise name).

If Nash wasn't traded for the ludicrous sum of:

Brandon Dubinsky
Tim Erixon 7.5C
Christian Thomas 8.0D
JT Miller 7.5C
2012 NYR 1st

Rick Nash

So for Carey Price, the Leafs pitch would be about this:

2012 TOR 1st
Joffrey Lupul
Jake Gardiner
Nazem Kadri 8.0C
Jesse Blacker 7.5C
Joe Colborne 7.5C

Carey Price

The Leafs would do this but it's a huge blow, and this is of course Montreal taking a last resort deal, because losing Carey Price is the utmost in complete and utter failure.
No ****ing way in hell.

I'm a gigantic Price fan, he's my second favorite next to Lundqvist, but no.

That creates more problems than it solves.

There shouldn't even be a discussion about this: we all known Burke's stance on offer sheets. It would shock me if he did this to the next Montreal GM.

Purely hypothetical cuz I really doubt he wants to leave. Basically trade anything for him that doesn't include both Kessel and Gardiner. Would probably do Kessel straight up for him, but I think an offer of Schenn our 1st and possibly Kadri for him would suit both teams better.

the max before is 7.835...M(little bit more) So I would offer 7.835 so we could get price for 2 firsts and a 2nd(Not quoting Kessel trade)

No way Habs trade him. They basically have to give him whatever he wants.

As a Habs fan, it would probably take your 2012 first, 2013 first, Gardiner and Colbourne to even consider it.

Don't want Lupul, don't want kadri, and don't want Reimer.

Some of you are right, there would be a crazy bidding war.

Interestingly enough, something like this could set the Habs up nicely, but they would suck for 4 more years minimum.

Are you saying that Carey Price might not want to remain on a bottom-feeding club that has eats through goalies and is forever under the spotlight?

I'd be prepared to hand over a lot, including our 2012 and 2013 1st round picks, but not Gardiner. Would set Montreal up pretty well for a shot at MacKinnon

I don't see how you can get price and keep Gardiner.

I am sure the Habs would insist he is part of the deal.

this is all what-ifs. I guess it should have been "value of" really. but regardless if hes being moved, who wants him, and whats it gonna take?
Rebuilding around Subban? As a Leafs fan I'd love this, as a hockey fan I'd hurl

Including Gardiner for Price is a no brainer. Price is a legit #1 goalie, Gardiner is maybe a 2nd pairing guy on a competitive team, tops?

How about any two of Gardiner, Schenn, and Kadri? Would that work?

********. Waters doesn't know ****. Price has already stated he wants to resign with Habs and the deal will get done soon AND Molson has already said he himself, will head up negotiations to get Price and Subban signed long term. If he were available the Leafs would be the last team he would go to. he'd **** the habs for the next 15 years playing for you guys

I agree, its why I think this current should be good, with a better system/personnel.
